For kids aged 4-18, the LTA Youth programme is a fantastic introduction to the sport and helps develop key skills both on and off the court. With 6 different stages, starting with Youth Start, the programme develops with the player, keeping it fresh and exciting the whole way through. Less than an hour down the road from the Leeds city centre is Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, home to the professional men’s and women’s grass court tournament, the Ilkley Trophy. This ATP Challenger and ITF Women’s event plays host to a number of the games' up-and-coming stars each year as they prepare for the Wimbledon Championships.

For those at the top of their game, David Lloyd Leeds has previously hosted the National Premier League Finals for some of the country’s top players. Otherwise the Leeds & District League offers a number or inter-club competitive singles and doubles competitions, as well as the large number or Grade 3-6 tournaments taking place throughout the year.

The LTA is proud to have a large number of LTA registered venues and clubs throughout Leeds, providing the community with a safe and friendly tennis environment that enables all ages to come along to a local court and have fun playing tennis.
The LTA is also continuing to lead the way in providing opportunities for underserved communities to get involved in tennis through its SERVES programme. SERVES is a leading sport for development programme that takes tennis to communities and people who might not otherwise have the chance to play. There are 5 SERVES sites across Leeds doing some amazing work within the community, such as The Hamara Centre and at Leeds Grand Mosque. While both are currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, they plan to reopen in the future.
