Cardio Tennis is a fun, sociable group fitness class with a tennis twist. This tennis workout is open to anyone - all ages and abilities!
Great music, great cardio and great people – what’s not to like? You’ll get to hit lots of tennis balls during your class, build up your skills and work up a sweat.
You might be wondering, “is tennis good exercise?” - the short answer is yes! Tennis offers a great workout from a cardio fitness perspective as well as working out muscles across your body, from your core to your glutes.
What is a typical Cardio Tennis class like?
Each class is an hour long, with a short warm-up, a 40-minute full body workout, and a cool down.
- Warm up
Some dynamic stretching, skills and drills to get your body warm and mind sharp, ready for the workout to begin!
- Aerobics
Here’s your chance to hit loads of shots - forehands, backhands, serves, you name it - all mixed with a variety of fitness activities.
- Tennis
Put your shots into practice with fun tennis games. You’ll never play one-on-one; your teammates will be with you all the way.
- Cool down
Well done, you did it! Now it’s time to recover and stretch.
Cardio Tennis FAQs: What else do I need to know?
Bring along your own racket if you have one, but if not don’t worry as you might be able to borrow one from your Cardio Tennis venue. Wear comfortable gym kit and trainers. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle too!
Not at all. Everyone is welcome to Cardio Tennis, no matter what your skill level is! The class moves along quickly, so no one will be judging your skills, and it doesn’t matter whether the ball goes in or out.
No! Cardio Tennis is for anyone who wants to have fun getting fit.
Most Cardio Tennis venues offer pay and play classes; no membership needed.
