Cash & Glasspool crowned Lyon champions; Boulter reaches semi-final

Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool captured their fourth ATP title of the season at the Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes as they continue to push for qualification for the Nitto ATP Finals.

The British team beat the second seeds, and home favourites Theo Arribage and Albano Olivetti 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the final.

The win adds to their titles in Barcelona, Washington and Beijing and sees them just 175 ranking points off qualification for Turin.

Cash and Glasspool have now won 12 trophies together since joining forces at the end of 2024 and were the No.1 ranked doubles team in the world last year.

On the WTA Tour, Katie Boulter had a return to form with a semi-final run at the WTA 250 event in Osaka, Japan.

Boulter secured wins over Himeno Sakatsume, Viktorija Golubic and Antonia Ruzic to book a spot in her third WTA semi-final of the season.

In the final four, she came up against eventual champion and doubles world No.1 Katerina Siniakova, losing 6-1, 6-4.

Boulter has now returned to the WTA top 50 and has reclaimed her place as British No.1.

Klugman stars in Wrexham

Britain’s Hannah Klugman won the biggest singles title of her career on home soil at the W100 Lexus Wrexham Open.

The 17-year-old put together an incredible week in North Wales, lifting the trophy without dropping a set.

Klugman beat France’s Elsa Jacquemot 6-2, 6-4 in the final to become the youngest British woman to win a singles title at W100 level or higher.

She is the second British teenager to win the title in as many years after Mimi Xu in 2025.

In the women's doubles final, Freya Christie and Eden Silva defeated fourth seeds, Hiroko Kuwata and Ankita Raina 6-2, 6-3 to win the title.

Christie and Silva have now won five doubles titles together this year, including Wrexham at the WTA 125 Lexus Ilkley Open.

McDonald lifts singles & doubles titles in Austin

Ella McDonald enjoyed one of the best weeks of her career – winning the singles and doubles trophies at the W50 Austin.

The 21-year-old came through qualifying to clinch the biggest singles title of her career so far. In the final, she defeated former world No.35 Madison Brengle 7-5, 6-1.

It continues a strong run of form for the young British star, having also reached the semi-finals at the W100 Templeton and W50 Berkeley in the last month.

The week was capped off with more success in the doubles draw. McDonald teamed up with American Kylie Collins to beat Ashley Lahey and Alexandra Vagramov in the final 6-0, 6-1.

This is already the 16th professional doubles title of McDonald’s young career, and her fifth at W50 level.

Meanwhile, back in the UK, Oliver Tarvet won an all-British final against Paul Jubb at the Lexus British Pro Series Redbridge.

Tarvet – who reached the final without losing a set – eventually beat Jubb 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in a high-quality final.

It’s the 22-year-old’s third singles title of the season, with all three coming in British events as part of the LTA Performance Competitions Calendar.

The doubles trophy was won by Cameron Fryer and Kyle McKay – their first professional tennis title.

Fryer and McKay came through a tough final against fourth seeds Tanapatt Nirundorn and Pablo Perez Ramos 6-4, 6-7(7), 10-6.

Shuker claims 99th doubles title

It was another landmark week for Britain’s Lucy Shuker, winning her 99th career wheelchair doubles title.

The former British No.1 and Paralympic silver medallist teamed up with France’s Pauline Deroulede to win the WC100 Feucherolles – Yvelines.

Shuker and Deroulede beat fellow Brit Abbie Breakwell and Zoe Maras in the final 6-1, 6-3.

Earlier this year Shuker announced that 2026 would be the final season of her career.

Elsewhere, Cornelia Oosthuizen made the women’s wheelchair singles final but lost in a marathon match to Deroulede 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Dahnon Ward also finished runner-up in the men’s wheelchair singles to American Charlie Cooper 6-4, 6-3.
