10U Performance Network

What is the 10U Performance Network?
The 10U Performance Network are a group of nationally recognised, LTA kitemarked 10U training environments delivering high-quality programmes for players aged 7–10 at the Regional Performance Stage of the LTA Player Pathway.
These programmes play an important role within the Player Pathway, helping to increase the number and quality of players who are inspired, informed, and ready to meet the demands of the National Performance stage of the player pathway (10-14 years old).
LTA kitemarked programmes have demonstrated that they meet the standards and expectations required to support players at this stage of the pathway. These programmes:
- Deliver quality daily training environments aligned to the age, stage and needs of developing players at the start of their performance journey.
- Provide structured coaching, competition support, and athletic development opportunities.
- Are committed to long term player development and led by qualified and accredited coaches with expertise at this age and stage.
Purpose of the Network
The purpose of the 10U Performance Network is to provide inspirational and high-quality development environments, in line with the LTA Aspirational Standards, which motivate and nurture the development of young players at the start of their performance journey.
Through the delivery of high-quality coaching and support for parents, these programmes will increase the number and quality of players learning through regular competition and optimise player development to ensure players successfully transition into the National Performance stage of the Player Pathway.
From September 2026, the 10U Performance Network will consist of two levels of kitemarked centres:
- 10U Performance Programmes (10U PP)
- 10U Performance Programmes – Enhanced (10U PP-E)
10U Performance Programmes (10U PP)
10U Performance Programmes are consistent developers of players aged 10 and under who regularly reach a nationally competitive level.
This means maintaining a stable, ongoing track record of developing players who progress into the National Performance Stage of the Player Pathway, although not necessarily on a year-on-year basis.
10U Performance Programmes – Enhanced (10U PP-E)
10U Performance Programmes – Enhanced are continuous developers of 10 and under players to a nationally competitive level and beyond.
These programmes deliver a continuous, year-on-year pipeline of players who progress into the National Performance stage of the Player Pathway, every single year over multiple consecutive years.
From September 2026 there will be 32 programmes (across England and Wales) as part of the 10U Performance Network. This will comprise of 19, 10U Performance Programmes – Enhanced (10U PP-E) and 13, 10U Performance Programmes (10U PP), the contact details of which are outlined below and can be seen on the map.

If you would like to find out more, we recommend contacting the programme(s) directly to register your interest and learn more about the opportunities available.
Player selection is the responsibility of the programme. Each programme is required to have a recruitment plan for how they identify and attract talent, using the Talent Characteristics to identify those with long term potential to progress through the Player Pathway.
Early signs of potential (Talent Characteristics)
- Attacking Qualities – Confident to attack
- Rallying Qualities – Comfortable in the rally
- Defensive Qualities – Chases every ball
- All Court Skills – Creative in play
- Athletic Skills – Athletic qualities
- Great Mover –Reads the ball well
- Competitive – Love to compete
- Inner Drive – Loves the game
Selection decisions should be made with a future-focused lens, ensuring players are training in environments that best support their long-term development, rather than short-term performance outcomes.
Important information
- Acceptance into a specific 10U PP-E or 10U PP is at the discretion of the programme and subject to each programme’s capacity and availability.
- Players must be able to regularly attend the programme and meet the expected training and competition demands.
- Programmes may prioritise players with long-term potential, development needs, and the suitability of the training environment for the individual player.
If there is not a 10U Performance Programme in your local area or if you would like further guidance on local opportunities and the Player Pathway, we recommend contacting your County Association or County Performance Lead.
