Patten & Heliovaara lift the title at the Nitto ATP Finals
Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara were crowned champions at the Nitto ATP Finals – capping off a strong season for the No.2 ranked doubles team of 2025.
Patten and Heliovaara qualified as second in their group, with five British players reaching the semi-finals. It’s the first time since 1992 that five players from one nation reached the semis at the ATP Finals.
In the final four, they knocked out home-favourites Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori to set up a final against British duo Neal Skupski and Joe Salisbury.
Despite losing to the Brits in the group stage, they got their revenge in the final, winning 7-5, 6-3 to claim the title.
Brits finish runners-up at Wheelchair Masters
Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid and Andy Lapthorne all had runners-up finishes at the ITF’s year-ending Wheelchair Tennis Masters.
Hewett reached his sixth singles final since 2017, but was unable to clinch his fourth title – losing out to world No.1 Tokito Oda 6-1, 6-1.
A day earlier Hewett also ended as runner-up in the men’s doubles alongside countryman Reid. This season’s Australian Open and Roland Garros champions lost a close final against Martin De la Puente and Ruben Spaagaren 6-4, 1-6, 14-12.
Meanwhile, Lapthorne and Heath Davidson enjoyed a strong campaign through to the quad doubles final in Huzhou, China.
The British, Australian team missed out on the title to top seeds Guy Sasson and Niels Vink 6-2, 6-0.
Broady makes Lyon final
Liam Broady had himself a stand out week at the Lyon Challenger in France, coming through qualifying to reach his first Challenger final since 2023.
Broady didn’t drop a set coming from qualifying until the quarter-finals, where he saw off Croatia’s Matej Dodig 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, before beating Tom Paris in the semi-final 7-6(5), 6-4.
However, the British star eventually finished runner-up after losing out to world No.100 Jan-Lennard Struff 6-4, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Charles Broom made the semi-final at the Drummondville Challenger in Canada – losing out to Duncan Chan 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-3.
Swan wins biggest title of the season
Former Billie Jean King Cup star Katie Swan continued her impressive form this season having returned from a long-term injury – winning the W50 Brisbane singles title.
Swan – who now has four titles on the season – knocked out sixth seed Lizette Cabrera, third seed Destanee Aiava and former junior world No.1 and second seed Emerson Jones on her way to the final in Brisbane.
In the title-decider, Swan defeated fifth seed Sijia Wei 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to claim her biggest title of the season so far.
The 26-year-old is climbing back up the WTA rankings and is now up to world No.280 - rising 118 places.
Elsewhere, Holly Hutchinson and Ella McDonald added more doubles silverware to their already successful seasons at the W50 Funchal in Portugal.
Hutchinson and McDonald beat Polina Bakhmutkina and Mina Hodzic in the final 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 to lift the trophy.
20-year-old McDonald has now won five ITF doubles titles this season, while Hutchinson has three in 2025.
Alastair Gray won his fifth ITF title of the season at the M25 Vale do Lobo in Portugal.
Gray defeated Ukraine's Georgii Kravchenko in the final 6-3, 7-5 to clinch his 11th career singles trophy.
Felix Gill rounded off the ITF title-winners this week at the M15 Antalya – defeating Radu Mihai Papoe of Romania in the final 6-1, 6-3.
Gill now has seven career ITF singles titles and three on the season – all coming on clay.
Harris wins third senior wheelchair doubles title
Ruben Harris, Britain’s top-ranked male junior wheelchair player claimed his latest senior title at the Karvina Indoor ITFFS.
Harris claimed his second senior main draw doubles title of the season when partnering Poland’s Kamif Fabisiak to victory at the ITF Futures tournament.
The second seeds defeated Austrian top seeds Martin Legner and Jozef Riegler 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 in the final, while Harris also reached his fourth successive ITF Futures senior men’s singles semi-final after beating former world No.3 and eight-time Paralympian Legner 6-3, 7-6(5).
Harris saw his singles challenge eventually come to an end against top seed and eventual champion Fabisiak 6-1, 6-3.
