US Open 2026: Qualifying draws announced for 14 Brits including Francesca Jones & Jacob Fearnley

The qualifying draws have been announced for the 2026 US Open, with 14 British players set to compete for a place in this year’s main draw.
US Open qualifying starts from Monday 24 August with the final round taking place on Thursday 27 August.
In the women’s singles qualifying, Britain’s Francesca Jones comes in as the third seed off the back of consecutive WTA 125 titles in Rome and Palermo.
Jones will play Italian Nuria Brancaccio in the first round, while 29th seed Harriet Dart plays American Jordyn Hazelitt.
Katie Swan will open her account against Katerina Scott of the USA. Swan made the second round of the main draw at Wimbledon this summer.
Heather Watson has a tough draw against sixth seed Claire Liu, while Jodie Burrage will continue her journey back from injury up against Spain’s Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales.

Jacob Fearnley is the highest British seed in the men’s singles after recently winning the Newport Challenger title at the end of the grass court season.
Fourth seed Fearnley faces Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena in round one as he aims to better his main draw second round appearance last year.
Toby Samuel has also been in great form this year, including a semi-final run at the Lexus Eastbourne Open. The seventh seed will play Francesco Maestrelli in the first round.
Other British ties in the first round include Harry Wendelken up against 26th seed Stefano Travaglia, Billy Harris facing Gonzalo Bueno of Peru, and Jack Pinnington Jones taking on American Trevor Svajda.
Henry Searle is playing in US Open qualifying for the first time – starting off with a draw against Michael Antonius. The winner could play former runner-up and top-five player Kei Nishikori in the second round.
Elsewhere, Liam Broady will try to qualify for his maiden US Open appearance. The Brit has played all three of the other majors and will start his qualifying campaign against Marco Cecchinato.
Meanwhile, Felix Gill faces Francesco Passaro, and Oliver Crawford will play Lukas Neumayer to round off the men’s singles qualifying draw.
