Junior programme: A fresh approach to tennis coaching for children aged 4 to 18

Training for coaches to take place across England, Scotland and Wales during February, March and April.

What is it?

Building on the success of Tennis for Kids, this spring will see the launch of a fresh, modern and comprehensive coaching programme for children aged 4 - 18 years. The programme will deliver a clear, compelling and engaging offer that parents and kids can relate to and understand. Coaches will be able to access a suite of videos and session plans for all stages of player development with world class content. The programme will be supported by an engaging marketing campaign developed by a professional creative agency.

Why has it been developed?

The junior programme will help to make tennis relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for more children. Underpinned by insight we know that the younger a child picks up a tennis racket, the more likely they are to continue to play throughout their lives. Sessions need to be fun, dynamic and focus on personal development.

How will it work?

The programme is designed to capture children’s imaginations by using game based play, appropriate challenges and introducing them to competition while focusing on developing their skills. It is for all levels and will get more children trying tennis through Tennis for Kids and playing, staying and competing in tennis.
