Patten wins second ATP Masters 1000
Henry Patten and Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara took their season to new heights – claiming their fourth title of the season at the Mutua Madrid Open.
The Adelaide, Doha and Dubai champions added their first ATP Masters 1000 trophy of the year after beating Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard in the final 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.
It’s a second Masters title for the former Wimbledon, Australian Open and ATP Finals winners since joining forces in 2024.
Their latest victory has seen them rise to No.1 in the ATP Doubles Race team rankings for the 2026 season.
Lumsden, Dart & Watson bag doubles titles
There was more doubles success for British stars Maia Lumsden, Harriet Dart and Heather Watson this week.
Lumsden retained her Saint-Malo WTA 125 title, teaming up with Dutch star Isabelle Haverlag.
Lumsden and Haverlag – who also made the final of the Merida Open in February – stormed their way to the title without dropping a set.
In the final, they defeated third seeds Hao-Ching Chan and Ivana Corley 6-4, 6-0 to claim Lumsden’s third career title at WTA 125 level.
Dart and Watson teamed up to win the W100 Gifu doubles title in Japan – only their second tournament together since 2024.
The former Nottingham finalists came back to beat Catherine Harrison and Dalayna Hewitt of USA in the final 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Elsewhere, Olivia Nicholls and her partner Tereza Mihalikova finished runners-up at the La Bisbal D’Emporda WTA 125. The duo lost to Elena Pridankina and Qianhui Tang in the final 6-1, 6-3.
Francesca Jones also made the semi-finals of the W100 Wiesbaden before narrowly losing out to Mia Pohankova of Slovakia 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(3).
Britain’s clean sweep in Nottingham
The Lexus Pro Series Nottingham saw British winners in all four draws last week – with two all-British singles finals in the W35 and M25 events.
In the women’s singles, Lily Miyazaki won her first title of the year and the eighth of her career after beating fellow Brit Emily Appleton 6-3, 6-3 in the final.
Meanwhile, Anton Matusevich added his third title of the season and the biggest of his career with a 7-6(6), 7-6(9) win over former junior Wimbledon champion Henry Searle.
Freya Christie and Eden Silva made it back-to-back doubles titles on home soil – thrashing Aneta Laboutkova and Kristina Novak in the final 6-1, 6-0. The pair also won the Lexus Pro Series Roehampton the week before.
Joe Tyler came away from Nottingham as the men’s doubles champion, teaming up with Bosnian Nemanja Malesevic. They defeated Americans Alex Jones and Miles Jones 7-6(4), 6-3 in the final.
Finally, in ITF action, Britain’s Oliver Okonkwo won the M15 Orange Park with American Hunter Heck, thanks to a 7-5, 6-3 final victory over Dakotah Bobo and Benjamin Koch.
