The Barcelona Open is the fourth WC1000 event on the ITF’s 2026 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, and is a new addition this season to the highest tier of standalone wheelchair tournaments outside of the Grand Slams.
The Barcelona Open is the only WC1000 tournament this season to be held on clay and, therefore, the most prominent clay-court wheelchair tournament of the year after Roland Garros

When is the Barcelona Open 2026?
The Barcelona Open takes place from Wednesday 27 May through to Saturday 30 May.
Where is the Barcelona Open 2026 being held?
The Barcelona Open will take place at the Reial Club Polo de Barcelona, some 20 minutes west of Barcelona City Centre.
Which British players be competing at the Barcelona Open 2026?
Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid will contest the men’s events at this year’s Barcelona Open, while Andy Lapthorne and Greg Slade will contest the quad draws.
Hewett paired up to win the Barcelona Open men’s doubles title with Reid in 2023, having also won the same title in 2022, partnering Belgium’s Joachim Gerard.
Hewett lost out in the men’s singles semis in both 2022 and 2023, while Reid was a singles quarter-finalist in 2023.
Lapthorne was also a quad singles quarter-finalist and quad doubles semi-finalist in Barcelona in 2024.
