Day two: Fery beats Samuel while Mannarino defeats Mensik

37-year-old Adrian Mannarino caused an upset in the first match on the Andy Murray Arena as he knocked out third seed Jakub Mensik.

The Frenchman came through 5-7, 7-6(3), 7-6(5) to book his place in his seventh second round match at The Queen's Club.

Having lost a 5-1 lead, Mannarino was 2-0 down having lost eight consecutive matches when he recovered a break to keep the game level before storming through the second set tie-break.

After throwing away a 5–1 lead, Mannarino fell 2–0 behind, having lost eight consecutive games, but he clawed his way back with a crucial break to level the contest before surging through the second-set tie-break.

The third set followed a similarly tight pattern, once again heading to a tie-break, where the Frenchman held his nerve, sealing victory with a crisp cross-court volley - his 32nd winner of the match.

He'll take on Arthur Fery after he came through an all-British clash on Court 1 with fellow wild card Toby Samuel.

Fery put in a dominant performances to win 6-0, 6-2 in just an hour and 2 minutes.

The British wild card hit 15 winners and dropped just nine points on serve (31/40) as he breezed past his compatriot to book his place in the second round on his main draw debut.

Elsewhere, Brandon Nakashima beat Marton Fucsovics 6-3, 6-3 and Ignacio Buse moved past Marcos Giron 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(8).

Roland Garros semi-finalist Jakub Mensik starts the day on the Andy Murray Arena against Adrian Mannarino, followed by the conclusion of Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard vs Corentin Moutet.

Top seed Alex de Minaur follows against Gabriel Diallo. The Australian is fresh off a final run at s'Hertogenbosch last week and is a former Nottingham and Eastbourne champion.

Then it's over to British No.1 Cam Norrie in a tough clash with fourth seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Finally, last year's runner-up and second seed Jiri Lehecka plays s'Hertogenbosch champion Kamil Majchrzak.
