The nominees are in for September’s Player of the Month. With plenty of standout stars to choose from it's going to be a tough one to call, but have your say and vote for your favourite British tennis stars from the month of September.

How does it work?

Every month, three players will be nominated for each of the following categories:

  • Women’s singles
  • Men’s singles
  • Doubles
  • Wheelchair

Men’s singles

Jack Draper

  • Enjoyed a fairy-tale run to his first Grand Slam semi-final – becoming the eighth British man to reach the final four of a major tournament
  • Didn’t drop a single set on his way to the semi-final
  • Recorded his fourth win over a top 10 player during the fortnight after he defeated Alex de Minaur
  • Broke into the world’s top 20 for the first time in his career – the ninth British man to do so in the Open Era

Jacob Fearnley

  • Won the Rennes Challenger 100 title
  • Made it back-to-back titles on the ATP Challenger Tour after sealing the crown at the Orleans Challenger 125 – dropping just one set across the week
  • Cracked the world’s top 100 for the first time
  • Joined Jack Draper as the only British tennis player to have won four Challenger titles in a single season

Jan Choinski

  • Lifted the trophy at the Tulln Challenger 100 – his first title of the year and third Challenger crown of his career
  • Made a second round appearance at the Szczecin Challenger 125

Women’s singles

Sonay Kartal

  • Came through qualifying to eventually clinch her first WTA tour-level title at the Jasmin Open in Tunisia
  • Dropped just one set en route to the title
  • Broke inside the top 100 for the first time in her career
  • Clocked a career-high ranking of No.96

Emma Raducanu

  • Made the final eight at the Korea Open before being forced to retire against Daria Kasatkina due to injury
  • This marked her fifth quarter-final of the season
  • Recorded her highest ranking of the year so far (54)

Francesca Jones

  • Enjoyed a run to the semi-finals of the Ljubljana 125 (WTA 125)
  • Reached the semi-finals of the W50 Saint Palais sur Mer
  • Rounded off the month with a quarter-final appearance at the W75 Lisbon

Doubles

Jodie Burrage

  • Bounced back from injury to win the W100 Caldas da Rainha title alongside Anastasia Tikhonova
  • Won the trophy without dropping a set
  • Made the quarter-finals of the Jasmin Open with Lucia Bronzetti

Luke Johnson

  • Won the Saint Tropez Challenger 125 title with Sander Arends
  • The title in Saint Tropez signified the 10th Challenger title of Johnson’s career
  • Made it to the quarter-finals of the Orleans Challenger 125

Emily Appleton

  • Won her fourth W75 title of the year in Vienna
  • Clinched the title alongside Estelle Cascino without dropping a set all week
  • Quarter-finalist at the Jasmin Open

Wheelchair

Alfie Hewett

  • Secured the silver medal in the men’s wheelchair singles event at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games
  • Won his first Paralympic gold medal in the men’s wheelchair doubles alongside Gordon Reid
  • The pair barely dropped a game on their way to gold and capped off the tournament with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Japanese duo Takuya Miki and Tokito Oda

Gordon Reid

  • Crowned men’s wheelchair doubles champions at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games alongside Alfie Hewett and didn’t drop a set on their way to victory
  • This marked Reid’s second Paralympic gold medal
  • Quarter-finalist in the men’s wheelchair singles draw

Andy Lapthorne & Greg Slade

  • Joined forces to bring home the Paralympic silver medal in the quad doubles event, losing out on the gold to top seeds Niels Vink and Sam Schroder
  • This marked Lapthorne’s fourth Paralympic medal while it was a career-first medal for 22-year-old Slade
