Supporting LGBTQ+ communities at your venue
For many LGBTQ+ people, feeling welcome can have as much impact as the activity itself. Small actions by venues can help create environments where people feel respected, valued and comfortable being themselves.
Inclusive environments are created through everyday behaviours, clear expectations and a commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Five practical things your venue can do
- Make expectations around behaviour visible.
- Ensure reporting routes are easy to find.
- Use inclusive language across your communications.
- Celebrate diversity and visibility opportunities.
- Review club policies and codes of conduct regularly.
LGBTQ+ Inclusion Plan
We are committed to listening, learning, and working together with LGBTQ+ communities to ensure that tennis and padel continue to be seen as open and inclusive for all, as well as ensuring that everyone’s experience is truly in line with the ambition set out in our EDI Plan, to foster a sense of belonging for all communities. Pride in Tennis
Pride in Tennis are the LGBTQ+ tennis and padel network for Britain. They work to promote LGBTQ+ participation in British Tennis and to make tennis safe and inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community.

Rally Allies
Rally Allies is an LGBTQ+ educational Programme offered by Pride in Tennis in partnership with the LTA to every club, park, county and commercial tennis venue in the UK, providing the opportunity to support and celebrate their queer tennis participants.
