The grass court season might be over, but the tennis never stops as we head stateside for the year's US hard court swing where a combined WTA/ATP 1000 event in Canada is about to get underway.
With just a few days to go until the tournament begins, find out everything you need to know about the 2025 National Bank Open.
National Bank Open schedule
This year’s tournament will see the qualifying stages begin on Saturday 1 August while the main draw action will get underway from 2-13 August.
The day sessions will begin at 17:30 BST.
Where is the National Bank Open taking place?
Once again, the National Bank Open will be held across two cities in Canada – Toronto and Montreal. The dual-venue format means the ATP and WTA events are played at the exact same time in separate cities and then swap to the alternate city the following year.
This year, the women’s event will be staged at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto - a stadium which has the capacity to welcome 12,500 spectators, while also having a further 11 smaller courts around the complex. Meanwhile the men’s event will be hosted at the IGA Stadium in Montreal, where their centre court has the capabilities to seat up to 11,815 fans.

Which British players are competing at the National Bank Open 2025?
Singles
British No.2 Katie Boulter will be Canada bound once again as she looks to make a fast start to the US hard court swing. Boulter - who will be playing her first tournament since getting married to Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur - is the only British woman confirmed for the main draw and will be hoping for a deep run in Canada.
Boulter made the third round at the National Bank Open in 2024, but lost out on a spot in the quarter-finals to then world No.2 Aryna Sabalenka. The 29-year-old is a former hard court champion having lifted the San Diego title in 2024 and could be tipped for a strong performance in Toronto.
On the ATP side, Cam Norrie is the only player confirmed for main draw action in Montreal. The British No.2 has been struggling with injuries over the last couple of months but will be hoping to put it behind him and start fresh as he kickstarts his hard court campaign.
Doubles
There’s also plenty of British interest in the doubles draw.
Reigning champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool will return to Canada looking to defend the title they won last year. The British duo have already lifted one trophy this season at the ATP 500 event in Barcelona and will be determined to add another title to their haul.
Australian Open champions Neal Skupski and American partner Christian Harrison will also be contesting the men's doubles crown.
On the women’s side, Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova arrive on the back of the biggest title of their partnership, having won the HSBC Championships in June. The pair defeated Laura Siegemund and Leylah Fernandez in a match tie-break to claim their second WTA 500 title together.
Elsewhere, Maia Lumsden will team up with Ukraine's Lyudmyla Kichenok.
Past British success at the National Bank Open
British players have enjoyed greater success in the doubles events in recent years. Salisbury and Rajeev Ram lifted the men's doubles title in 2021, before Skupski and Wesley Koolhof triumphed a year later, defeating British, Australian duo Dan Evans and John Peers in the 2022 final.
Most recently, Cash and Glasspool emerged victorious in an all-British championship match against Salisbury and Skupski, battling to a 6-3, 6-7(5), 13-11 victory to claim their maiden ATP Masters 1000 title.
