Dart captures first WTA singles title

Harriet Dart enjoyed a week to remember at the Guangzhou Open after winning her maiden WTA singles title.

The Brit came through qualifying before defeating Tatiana Prozorova, second seed Janice Tjen, fifth seed Paula Badosa and wild card Sun Xinran to reach her first Tour-level final.

In the final, she faced Austrian teenager and fourth seed Lilli Tagger and came back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and capture her first WTA crown.

The victory sees Dart break back into the world's top 100 for the first time in two years, with the 30-year-old rising to world No.83.

Swan, Tarvet & Maxted claim singles titles

Katie Swan picked up her third singles title of the year at the W35 Sydney this week.

Competing in her first tournament since retiring from her semi-final match in Portugal at the beginning of the month, the Brit raced through to the final in Sydney, where she faced Japan's Hikaru Sato.

Swan dropped just three games in the final as she sealed a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Meanwhile, on home soil, Oliver Tarvet backed up last week's Lexus British Pro Series Redbridge triumph by securing a second consecutive title in Sheffield.

The 23-year-old dropped just one set en route to the final before producing a flawless display to defeat France's Matt Ponchet 6-0, 6-0.

It marks Tarvet's fourth title of the season, with all four coming at British events on the LTA Performance Competitions Calendar.

Rounding off a successful week for the Brits, Lui Maxted claimed his first singles title of the year at the M25 Norman.

Having overcome fellow Brit Alastair Gray in straight sets in the semi-finals, Maxted fought back from a set down against Tyler Zink in the final, winning 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-3 to lift the trophy.

The doubles title was won by Rhys Lawlor and Jared Horwood, marking their first professional title together. In the final, they defeated all-British duo Cameron Fryer and Kyle McKay 2-6, 6-4, 10-6.

British players also enjoyed doubles success across the World Tennis Tour.

Savannah Dada-Mascoll clinched her fourth doubles title of the year at the W75 Glasgow alongside Angella Okutoyi.

The British-Kenyan duo beat fellow Brit Amelia Rajecki and Estonia's Elena Malygina in the final, winning 6-3, 6-3.

Over at the W35 event in Malta, Esther Adeshina teamed up with Greece's Valentini Grammatikopoulou to win the doubles trophy, defeating all-Italian duo Vittoria Paganetti and Federica Urgesi 6-1, 6-3 in the final.

Melissa Boyden also enjoyed a milestone moment, lifting her first professional title at the W15 Neuquen alongside Luciana Moyano.

The pair capped off an impressive week with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Josefina Estevez and Sol Ailin Larraya Guidi.

Shuker hits milestone 100th doubles title

British players won five of the six titles on offer at the Abingdon WC50, where former British No.1 Lucy Shuker secured the 100th doubles title of her career.

19-year-old fourth seed and two-time LTA Junior Wheelchair Player of the Year Ruben Harris defeated France's Clement Miranda 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 to win the first senior men's singles title of his career.

Harris and Miranda later finished runners-up in the men's doubles, losing to the all-French second-seeded partnership of Timothee Da Costa Santos and Olivier Langlois.

Second seed Ruby Bishop fought back to beat top seed and defending champion Abbie Breakwell 0-6, 6-4, 7-5 and claim her third women's singles title of 2026 before teaming up with Shuker to win the women's doubles crown.

Bishop and Shuker earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Breakwell and Belgium's Luna Gryp in the final, which also marked Shuker's final competitive appearance on British soil before retiring at the end of the season.

Kevin Lewis remained unbeaten across his four round-robin matches during the three-day competition at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre to secure the first international title of his career in the quad singles.

Lewis defeated 2023 and 2024 champion Oliver Cox 7-5, 6-2 in the decisive match. Cox later teamed up with fellow Brit Gary Cox to claim the quad doubles title despite finishing runner-up in the singles event.

The British pair defeated France's Melvil Vedrenne-Cloquet and Germany's Konstantin Voglis 6-2, 6-2 in the quad doubles final.
