Ward wins singles and doubles crown in Switzerland
While Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid, Lucy Shuker and Andy Lapthorne were all finalists in singles or doubles at the WT1000 Cajun Classic in Baton Rouge, Dahnon Ward claimed his second WT100 men’s singles title and his first doubles title of 2026 at the Biel-Bienne Indoors.
One of five Brits contesting the Swiss tournament, February’s Bolton Indoor men’s singles champion Ward lived up to his top-seeding in Biel-Bienne, powering through the draw with four straight sets wins and defeating Austrian second seed Nico Langmann 6-0, 6-3 in the final.
Langmann denied Britain’s Ruben Harris and Joshua Johns in the first round and the quarter-finals, respectively, while all three Brits featured in the men’s doubles semis, as top seeds Ward and Maxi Taucher beat Harris and Langmann 7-5, 6-2 in an Anglo-Austrian contest.
Two Brits again featured in the final after Johns and Belgium’s Alexander Lantermann eased pass the second seeds in the four, but they were unable cause enough problems for the top seeds as Ward and Taucher claimed the double crown 7-5, 6-3.
Elsewhere, Ruby Bishop and Cornelia Oosthuizen progressed to the women’s singles quarter-finals and semi-finals, respectively, with Bishop’s doubles challenge ending in the semi-finals.
Over in Baton Rouge, Hewett lost out on the chance to claim his sixth Cajun Classic men's singles title, after being beaten by world No.1 Tokito Oda 1-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Dudeney clinches first singles title of the year
Alicia Dudeney lifted her first title of the year on the ITF Tour, with the 22-year-old winning the W15 Monastir crown.
Dudeney was an unstoppable force across the week and powered to the title without dropping a set. She dropped just one game in her quarter-final meeting against Marta Soriano Santiago, before beating Italy’s Matilde Mariani 6-3, 6-1 to reach the final.
There, she took on Ukraine’s Masha Lazarenko where she clocked a 6-1, 6-2 win to etch her name on the trophy.
Her victory in Monastir marked her fourth career ITF singles title and saw her climb to a new career high ranking of world No.405.
