10 British singles players in the top 200 of the ATP rankings

• 2 MINUTE READ

10 British singles players feature in the top 200 of this week’s ATP rankings – the most recorded in a single week since June 1976 (13).

The Brits reached their latest landmark in the men’s world rankings after Ryan Peniston’s ATP Challenger title saw him climb 30 places to world No.194.

Jack Draper currently leads the way as the British No.1 and world No.9, having won the biggest title of his career at Indian Wells this season, achieved his best runs at the Australian Open and Roland Garros, and reached a career-high ranking of No.5 in the world.

He’s one of three Brits currently inside the world’s top 100 – alongside former Wimbledon semi-finalist Cam Norrie and rising star Jacob Fearnley.

The Brits have been making strong progress further down the rankings as well. British No.4 Billy Harris recently won his first ATP Challenger title, reached the Lexus Eastbourne Open quarter-final and got his first Grand Slam win at Wimbledon.

Jan Choinski has been a star on the ATP Challenger Tour, winning four titles on clay so far in 2025 – his best season to date.

Dan Evans had a strong grass court season with wins in s’Hertogenbosch, the HSBC Championships and a quarter-final in Eastbourne.

Oliver Crawford and Jay Clarke did an impressive job picking up titles and results at ITF level earlier in the season and are now competing regularly on the Challenger circuit. Between them, they have won eight ITF titles this season.

Jack Pinnington Jones has made a bright start to his professional career after leaving Texas Christian University (TCU) and the NCAA earlier this year. The young Brit reached the Lexus Ilkley Open final and then went on to win the Lexus Nottingham Challenger just a week after his maiden Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon.

Finally, former Queen’s Club quarter-finalist Peniston marked his return to the top 200 by winning his second career Challenger trophy at the Hersonissos.

This news also follows the five British stars who featured in the ATP doubles top 10 last week – only the third time in history that one nation has achieved this and the first time for Great Britain.

On the women’s side – Emma Raducanu, Sonay Kartal, Katie Boulter and Francesca Jones make up four players in the top 100, with Jodie Burrage also ranked at No.150 in the world.
