Wimbledon 2026: Jack Draper draws Taylor Fritz, Emma Raducanu on path to meet Aryna Sabalenka & Brits draw more seeds

• 3 minute read

The singles draws have been announced for The Championships, Wimbledon 2026, including a tough first round for Jack Draper, a potential all-British clash followed by a meeting with the world No.1 for Emma Raducanu, and several seeded players for the British wild cards.

Draper has arguably the hardest first round draw of any British player in the Wimbledon draw this year – taking on sixth seed and last year’s semi-finalist Taylor Fritz.

The Briton missed out on a seeding having spent a long time out with injuries since Wimbledon last year. After making the quarter-finals at Indian Wells this year, he was hampered by a knee injury before making a return at the Lexus Eastbourne Open this week.

Draper and Fritz have met five times, with the Brit leading the head-to-head 3-2. The Briton has won their only previous meeting on grass at The Queen’s Club in 2022, and also beat the American at Indian Wells last year.

Fritz is in strong form on the grass having recently made finals in Stuttgart and Halle. He’s also a four-time Eastbourne champion.

The winner would go on to play either Mackenzie McDonald or Patrick Kypson, before potentially meeting 29th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Men's singles draw

British No.1 and Queen's Club runner-up  Emma Raducanu opens her Wimbledon campaign against Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic.

If she comes through the opening round, she’ll play the winner between former Wimbledon semi-finalist and Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko or fellow Briton, Harriet Dart.

In the third round, she would potentially face world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, in a repeat of last year’s memorable round of 32 battle.

Fellow British No.1 Cam Norrie plays Michael Zheng of the USA in the first round and could be on course for a meeting with third seed Felix Auger-Alliasime in the third round.

Norrie made the quarter-final at Wimbledon last year and reached the semi-finals in 2022.

Elsewhere, Katie Boulter has drawn Italian Tyra Caterina Grant, with the winner potentially taking on Lexus Nottingham Open champion Marie Bouzkova.

There are some tough draws for some of the British wild cards competing in the women’s singles at Wimbledon this year.

17-year-old Hannah Klugman will play 2024 champion Barbora Krejcikova, only two weeks after the Brit claimed her first WTA win in Nottingham.

Billie Jean King Cup star Mika Stojsavljevic plays former Olympic gold medallist Belinda Bencic, and Mimi Xu takes on 2024 Eastbourne champion Daria Kasatkina.

Several of the British men have also drawn seeded players in their first round matches at SW19 this year.

Qualifiers Billy Harris and Oliver Tarvet have been rewarded with matchups against 19th seed Karen Khachanov and 25th seed Arthur Rinderknech, respectively.

Meanwhile, Felix Gill has drawn the rising star Rafael Jodar in what will be the Spaniard’s first tournament on grass.

Toby Samuel is set to face 15th seed and Roland Garros semi-finalist Jakub Mensik in round one. And Jack Pinnington Jones takes on HSBC Championships semi-finalist Brandon Nakashima.

British No.2 Jan Choinski plays Vit Kopriva after reaching the top-100 for the first time, and Jacob Fearnley will have a tough test against Alex Michelsen.

Arthur Fery plays Damir Dzumhur, and Harry Wendelken has drawn Valentin Royer. A win for Fery could see him take on fourth seed Ben Shelton, while Wendelken could go on to face French Open champion Alexander Zverev.

Francesca Jones will meet Diane Parry for the chance to potentially play 19th seed Anna Kalinskaya, and Katie Swan could face Madison Keys if she can defeat Irina Camelia Begu.

Alicia Dudeney makes her debut against American Alycia Parks, while qualifier Max Basing plays his maiden match at SW19 against Shintaro Mochizuki.

The Wimbledon main draw starts from Monday 29 June - you can watch the action exclusively on the BBC.
