Preview
A six-strong squad is set to represent Great Britain in Perth at the beginning of January where they will go head-to-head with Japan and Greece in a hope to break out of the groups.

The British players so far selected to compete at the 2025 United Cup include British No.1’s Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper, fellow debutant Mimi Xu, returning star Billy Harris, and doubles specialists Lloyd Glasspool and Olivia Nicholls.
Raducanu joins the squad off the back of a standout season that has seen her rise back into the world’s top 30. The former US Open champion also reached her first WTA 1000 quarter-final, made the semi-finals in Washington and clinched her first top 10 win on a hard court during her solid year on the WTA tour.
Raducanu will undoubtedly prove a deadly weapon for the British team, as will fellow British No.1 Draper who is also set to make his debut. The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2025 – lifting his first Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells and cracking the ATP top 5 for the first time in his career. While Draper has been sidelined since September to nurse an injury, the Briton is expected to make his return at the United Cup where he’ll look to guide his nation to the quarter-finals.
Rising star Xu is set to join the squad off the back of an impressive first year on the pro-tour. The 18-year-old’s defining moment came at the Lexus Wrexham Open in October where she sprinted to her first W100 title at her home tournament and recorded main draw wins on the grass in Birmingham, Nottingham and Ilkley.
For the Brits, they’ll be at an advantage in having doubles world No.1 Glasspool on their side. The 33-year-old has just wrapped up the most decorated year of his career alongside partner Julian Cash, where the pair hauled seven ATP doubles titles including their first Grand Slam trophy at Wimbledon to finish the season as year-end No.1’s.
Meanwhile, world No.26 and Berlin Open women’s doubles champion Nicholls joins the team for the second year in a row alongside Harris who claimed his first ATP Challenger title earlier this year.
