Tennis is a great social game – you can play it as singles or doubles, with friends or family and it forms a community in your local area.

But if you’re just getting started and want to find someone to play social tennis with, or you’re a seasoned player who wants to get on court even more and meet new people – there are a few different ways you can find a tennis partner.

Here’s a rundown on how you can find tennis players in your local area to have a hit with.

Join a Barclays Local Tennis League

Play fun, competitive tennis matches at your nearest park courts by joining a Barclays Local Tennis League.

Barclays Local Tennis Leagues match you with local players using your ITF World Tennis Number, so you find a tennis opponent at the right standard for you.

Download the app and you’ll be able to search for your nearest leagues, match with players and arrange matches through the chat function – it’s that easy.

With new Beginner Leagues now also being launched, now is the perfect time to join a league and meet new players, no matter your skill level.

Connect with Communities

The Play Tennis app has everything you need to book tennis courts, tennis classes and discover more ways to play the game.

The app’s Communities feature also allows you to connect with other people also playing at your venue – whether it be a park, a club or another court.

Simply search for your nearest tennis venues, select the one you want and join the community. Here you’ll be able to connect with players, arrange a hit on court and find out about any other events being run by other members.
