Arthur Fery has emerged from this year’s Wimbledon as a new fan-favourite in British tennis.
The 24-year-old entered The Championships as a wild card before making a dream run to the semi-finals – defeating the likes of Eastbourne champion Zizou Bergs, former world No.3 Grigor Dimitrov and ninth seed Flavio Cobolli.
A new career-high ranking inside the world’s top 40 has changed the course of the British No.1’s season, allowing him to play a full schedule on the ATP Tour.
So, where is Fery likely to play over the next few months? In his press conference after the semi-final defeat to Alexander Zverev, Fery gave an insight into some of the tournaments he has lined up now.
“I'm going to go to the US and play", he said. “I was signed up for Montreal 1000, which I don't know if I'll play yet. It's undecided.
“Then planning on playing Cincinnati and Winston-Salem, my first main draw at the US Open.”
Fery was also asked about any other events he’s looking forward to playing now that his ranking is high enough for direct entry.
“With regards to tournaments I haven't played yet that I would love to play, I'm looking forward to playing in Asia, “ he added. “It's going to be great. I don't know which exact events I'll play.
“Definitely Shanghai Masters. Before that, Tokyo and Beijing. Looking forward to playing Australia again. I love that place. Played the main draw already.”
