British tennis events confirmed as 2026 LTA Performance Competitions Calendar revealed
• 3 minute read
The first half of the LTA’s 2026 Performance Competitions Calendar has been revealed, with ATP Challenger events in Nottingham and Glasgow once again kicking off professional tennis in Britain.
The events, staged in consecutive weeks in January at the Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre and Scotstoun Tennis Centre as part of the Lexus British Pro Series, will give spectators the chance to get their fix of world-class tennis as the Australian Open gets underway at the same time.
Alongside ATP Challengers, January will also feature Women’s ITF World Tennis Tour events in Manchester and Birmingham, along with the Lexus Junior International 14U Tennis Europe event in Bolton, which counts world stars Emma Raducanu, Alex De Minaur and Coco Gauff among former entrants.
In total, more than 20 senior international tournaments across the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tours, in addition to age-group level events, will be taking place in Britain up to the start of The Championships, Wimbledon on 29 June, with more events to be confirmed for the second half of 2026.

In 2025, British players won more than 40 unique international professional titles as part of the offering delivered by the LTA, with highlights including rising star Mimi Xu capturing her biggest titles to date at the Lexus Wrexham Open in October.
In recent years, events in the LTA Performance Competitions Calendar have helped players to rise up the world rankings and break into the elite ATP and WTA Tours, including Grand Slam doubles winners Julian Cash and Henry Patten, and rising women’s star Sonay Kartal.
Following her win at the Lexus Wrexham Open earlier this year, Xu, who has risen almost 300 places in the WTA rankings in 2025 and has played 10events as part of the 2025 Performance Competitions Calendar, spoke of the importance of tournaments offered through the Calendar, saying, "It gives us the opportunity to play at the higher level… we know that our level's there, but tournaments like these really give us the opportunity to show that and prove it to ourselves and really help our confidence.”
As well as international events, domestic pro-level tournaments on the Lexus British Tour give prize-money, ranking point, and wildcard earning opportunities across Britain. Meanwhile, junior players from 9U to 18U can compete on the Lexus British Junior Tour, with events including the prestigious 16U and 18U Junior National Championships confirmed to take place in the weeks of the 30 March and 6 April.

These events run alongside an expanded disability competitions calendar for 2026, announced earlier in December. This will see a 20% increase in funding for wheelchair tennis events, with the Lexus British Open Roehampton receiving an increased WT1000 sanction, as well as a Virtus-sanctioned Learning Disability Tennis event at the Lexus Nottingham Open and investment in visually impaired, para standing and deaf tennis to showcase British talent in exhibitions and competitions.
LTA Managing Director of Performance Michael Bourne said, “We’re excited to reveal another packed year of domestic and international tennis in Britain. The Performance Competitions Calendar has played a major role in building the current strength and depth of British tennis, and we’re committed to maintaining high-quality events across the country to ensure British players can continue to aspire to reach the highest levels.”
The remainder of the 2026 Performance Competitions Calendar will be confirmed at a later date.
