The draws have been announced for the main draw of the Cincinnati Open WTA 1000 and ATP Masters 1000 tournament from 13-23 August, including five British stars so far.
Here’s a full roundup of the British players competing at the Cincinnati Open, including their first round draws.
Cincinnati Open first round draw
- Katie Boulter (GBR) vs Katie Volynets (USA)
- Cam Norrie (GBR) vs Dino Prizmic (CRO)
- Arthur Fery (GBR) (32) vs Bye
- Jan Choinski (GBR) vs Thiago Agustin Tirante (ARG)
- Jack Draper (GBR) vs Martin Landeluce (ESP)
Katie Boulter starts her campaign in Ohio against American Katie Volynets. Boulter defeated Volynets in their only previous meeting in Ostrava earlier this year, where Boulter claimed her fourth career WTA title.
The winner will then play sixth seed and Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova, who is playing her first tournament since lifting her first Grand Slam title at SW19.
British No.1 Cam Norrie has been dealt a tough draw coming off the back of a semi-final run in Los Cabos and a fourth round appearance at the National Bank Open.
Norrie is set to play Croatia’s Dino Prizmic in the first round, before a potential clash with top seed and Roland Garros champion Alexander Zverev.
Zverev is the highest-ranked player in Cincinnati this year after both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz announced they would miss the tournament with injury.
Jan Choinski has an equally difficult draw, playing Argentina’s Thiago Agustin Tirante in round one, with the winner moving on to face third seed and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
Arthur Fery will play his first tournament since his semi-final run at Wimbledon and is set to make his debut at the Cincinnati Open this week.
Fery comes in as the 32nd seed and has a bye in the opening round before a clash with either Australia’s James Duckworth or a qualifier. The 24-year-old could play fifth seed Alex de Minaur in the third round.
Wild card Jack Draper will continue his return from injury at the Cincinnati Open with a first round draw against rising Spanish star Martin Landeluce.
The former world No.4 would play 31st seed Matteo Arnaldi in the second round and Djokovic in the third, who he defeated in Indian Wells earlier this year.
There are still British players competing in qualifying at the Cincinnati Open as well. Harriet Dart is playing Aoi Ito of Japan in the second round of qualifying and Jacob Fearnley takes on Nicolas Mejia of Colombia.
