Lexus Nottingham Open 2026 player list

British players

Former Lexus Nottingham Open champion Jacob Fearnley will return to the courts where he lifted his maiden ATP Challenger title in 2024.

The British No.4 came through qualifying to reach the main draw before beating the likes of Paul Jubb, Juncheng Shang, Mattia Bellucci and Charles Broom on his way to the title.

That breakthrough run sparked a rapid rise for Fearnley, who went on to claim three more Challenger titles and break into the world’s top 100. The 24-year-old will be aiming for another strong showing in Nottingham this summer.

Standing in his way is fellow Brit Jack Pinnington Jones who enjoyed a standout grass court swing last year. He finished runner-up at the Leuxs Ilkley Open before claiming his first Grand Slam main draw win at Wimbledon. From there, the Brit went on to claim his maiden Challenger title in Nottingham to round off a successful grass court swing.

The 23-year-old has carried that momentum into the 2026 season, highlighted by a quarter-final run at the ATP 500 event in Dallas and could be a strong contender in Nottingham this summer.

Ones to watch

All eyes will be on top seed Iva Jovic, who will be bidding to add a second grass court trophy to her resume this year. The 18-year-old sprinted to the WTA 125 title in Ilkley last year, which was her first professional tournament on grass, before coming through qualifying to reach the main draw at Wimbledon.

The rising star has already proven she has the game to succeed on the surface and with two WTA titles to her name and a career-high ranking of world No.17, she will be among the favourites to etch her name on the trophy in Nottingham.

She'll face still competition in the form of 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez, who will be eager to make her breakthrough on the grass following her run to the final in Eastbourne two years ago, Jelena Ostapenko and former Wimbledon singles' champions Barbora Krejcikova and Karolina Pliskova who will all be aiming to lift the women's trophy.

In the men’s draw, you can be guaranteed to see some of the best up and coming players on the ATP Challenger Tour. Amongst those are last year’s Ilkley champion Tristan Schoolkate and Norwegian star Nicolai Budkov Kjaer – who hauled four Challenger titles in 2025.

Coleman Wong also enters the tournament in winning form having claimed the Jiujiang Challenger title at the start of May without dropping a set, and world No.75 Valentin Royer, who is the top seed in the men’s draw.

British success at the Lexus Nottingham Open

The Lexus Nottingham Open has become a happy hunting ground for British players in recent years, with consistent success across both the women’s and men’s draws.

On the women’s side, Katie Boulter has been the standout home favourite. The Leicester-native claimed her maiden WTA Tour title at Nottingham in 2023, defeating fellow Brit Jodie Burrage in the final before returning the following year to successfully defend her crown - overcoming former world No.1 Karolína Plískova in a tight three-set battle.

Boulter’s achievements continue a strong tradition of British success at the event. Johanna Konta lifted the title in 2021, while Elena Baltacha dominated in the early 2010s, winning three titles in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

There has also been notable British success in the men’s draw. Jacob Fearnley captured his first ATP Challenger title at Nottingham in 2024, following in the footsteps of Andy Murray, who won the title in 2023. Dan Evans has also enjoyed multiple successes at the event, lifting the trophy in 2022 and earlier in 2019.

Further back, Greg Rusedski also won the tournament in 1997 and 2003.

British players have also excelled in the doubles, dominating the honours list in recent years. Marcus Willis lifted the title in 2024, while Fearnley teamed up with Johannus Monday to win in 2023. Jonny O’Mara and Ken Skupski claimed the title in 2022, with Skupski also a multiple-time champion - winning in 2021, 2017 (alongside his brother Neal), and 2010.

Other notable British doubles winners include Joe Salisbury (2018), Dominic Inglot (2016), Colin Fleming (2010), Jamie Murray (2007) and Mark Petchey (1996), underlining the depth of British success at the tournament across generations.
