The names have been selected, now it’s time to have your say and vote your stand-out stars from the month of May in our Player of the Month feature.
May delivered a month of British success across the ATP, WTA, ITF and Wheelchair tours, with Brits sweeping up titles across the board and hitting new milestones – but who stood out to you the most? It's time for you to have your say!
How does it work?
Every month, three players will be nominated for each of the following categories:
- Men’s singles
- Women’s singles
- Doubles
- Wheelchair
Voting for Player of the Month has now closed, we are couting your votes and will announce the winners shortly.
The nominees
Men’s singles:
- Reached the semi-final at the Lyon Open
- Made it to the Round of 16 at the ATP Masters 1000 Rome
- Crowned champion at the Aix-en-Provence Challenger after overcoming world No.17 Tommy Paul
- This title marked Murray’s first singles title since 2019 and first ATP Challenger title since 2005
- Ended May ranked world No.41 - his highest ranking in five years
George Loffhagen
- Won the M25 Nottingham event after overcoming France’s Jules Marie 7-6(5), 6-2
- Finished runner up at the M25 Bodrum
- Reached a career high ranking of world No.460
Women’s singles:
- Finished runner-up at the W80 Gifu event in Japan
- Then went on to make a second consecutive final at the W60 Fukuoka where she ended the week as runner-up
- Won the W25 Nottingham event without dropping a set
- Made it to the doubles final at the W60 Bodrum alongside Ayla Aksu, where the pair finished runners-up
Anna Brogan
- Quarter-finalist of the W25 Kachreti event at the beginning of May
- She then went on to make It to the final of the W25 Kachreti event the following week where she finished runner-up to home favourite Ekaterine Gorgodze
Doubles:
- Crowned men’s doubles champions at the Lyon Open alongside Rajeev Ram, after beating Nicolas Mahut and Matwe Middelkoop 6-0, 6-3
- Reached the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 Rome
- Won the men’s doubles event at the Geneva Open alongside Michael Venus – marking the pair’s third title this year
- Climbed back up to world No.28 in the doubles rankings – his highest ranking since October 2022
- Claimed victory at the Bordeaux Challenger open with Finnish doubles partner Harri Heliovaara
- Broke into the ATP top 10 in the doubles rankings for the first time in his career
Wheelchair:
- Was a part of the Great Britain World Team Cup team that were crowned champions after overcoming the Netherlands 2-0
- Hewett won every match he played throughout the week (three wins in the singles rubbers and two in the doubles)
- Won the Tram Barcelona Open doubles event alongside Gordon Reid
- Made it to the semi-final of the Tram Barcelona Open singles event
- Was a part of the Great Britain World Team Cup team that were crowned champions after overcoming the Netherlands 2-0
- Reid won every match he played throughout the week (five singles rubbers and two doubles rubbers)
- Won the Tram Barcelona Open doubles event alongside Alfie Hewett
- Made it to the quarter-final of the Tram Barcelona Open singles event
