This is your chance to compete on the world-famous grass courts at Wimbledon – welcome to Play Your Way to Wimbledon, powered by Vodafone.
Britain’s largest mass participation tennis competition, Play Your Way to Wimbledon sees players across a range of abilities – including junior, adult and disability categories – pick up a racket to compete in and enjoy fun matches.
You start by competing locally at an event taking place at a local club, park or school, with the winners progressing through to the County and/or Area Finals, and then onto the National Finals at Wimbledon.
This competition is for recreational players who may be new to competing or play matches and tournaments at a local level. Entry is based on your ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) with disability events having their own criteria – more details below:
Play Your Way to Wimbledon competitions
- 14U Junior Singles – WTN 32.0 to 40.9
- 18U Junior Doubles – WTN 28.0 to 40.9
- 19+ Adult Doubles – WTN 25.0 to 40.9
- Wheelchair Adult and Junior
- Learning Disability

All venues hosting a Play Your Way to Wimbledon competition must be LTA registered venues (clubs, parks & schools).
New for 2026:
From 1 January 2026, everyone delivering Play Your Way to Wimbledon will need to have either an LTA Official Licence or LTA Coach Accreditation.
Follow the two steps below in order to host a venue stage event.
Step 1 - become an LTA Official Licence or LTA Coach Accreditation
In order to demonstrate your commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive competition environment, everyone delivering Play Your Way to Wimbledon will need to have either an LTA Official Licence or LTA Coach Accreditation.
How to obtain your licence:
- Complete the short Competition Organiser Conversion Course
- Get a criminal records check
- Join the Official Licence Scheme by heading to your dedicated Official Hub. You’ll only have access to the Official Hub after completing the conversion course.
The Officials Licence Scheme costs £15 per year, which gives you access to the Official Hub and provides some fantastic benefits and resources.
Step 2 - Create your Play Your Way to Wimbledon Venue Stage Event on the LTA Competition Management System
All Play Your Way to Wimbledon venue stage events will now be housed on the LTA Competition Management System (CMS).
This will allow for a more streamlined process for you, for players and ensure integrity across all events.
It will also make it easier for you to check a player’s ITF World Tennis Number, track sign-ups and deliver your event.

Details
- Venues can run a maximum of one ‘Open’ event and/or one ‘Closed’ event during the competition period.
- Venues can run singles and/or doubles events for boys, girls, men, women or all.
- All events run by venues must be open to all eligible players.
- Organisers can choose a format relevant to their venue, however, we recommend delivering the event over half or one day using a quicker format, such as Fast4.
- Player entry will be on a first come first served basis.
- All venue stage events will be Grade 6 if ‘Open’ and Grade 7 if ‘Closed.'
- Venue events must take place between 2 March – 24 May 2026.
- Venues must publish or enter the event by 1 February 2026 and will receive a venue pack w/c 23 February 2026.
Events will run from 2 March – 26 May 2026. Venues have until 1 February 2026 to apply to run an event, therefore, the majority of events taking place may not appear until after this date.

Play Your Way to Wimbledon is a competition for beginner to intermediate tennis players who are starting out competing or play regularly at a local level.
There are pathways for junior (14U singles and 18U doubles), adult (19+ doubles), wheelchair juniors and adults, learning disability and visually impaired players.
To enter an event, you will need to have an LTA Advantage account and WTN within the following range at the time of competing:
- 14U Junior Singles – WTN 32.0 to 40.9
- 18U Junior Doubles – WTN 28.0 to 40.9
- 19+ Adult Doubles – WTN 25.0 to 40.9
Once a player has won a venue stage event, they automatically qualify for the County Finals (singles) or Area Finals (doubles) and should no longer compete in another venue stage event in the relevant pathway.

Play Your Way to Wimbledon 14U Singles
- Any junior player under the age of 14 and born between 2012 and 2015 can enter.
- Players can only enter a competition in their play county, for example, if they play in Yorkshire, they can only enter a Play Your Way to Wimbledon event in Yorkshire.
- The only exception to this is if the LTA Registered Venue the player is a member/pupil at is hosting an event. This would only be relevant if a player lives in a different county to the venue they are a member/pupil at.
Play Your Way to Wimbledon 18U Doubles
- Any junior player under the age of 18 and born between 2007 and 2015 can enter.
- One of the players from a pair must be from that play county at an event, e.g. if there is an event taking place at a Yorkshire venue, one of the players from the doubles pair must have a play county of Yorkshire.
- The only exception to this is if the LTA Registered Venue the player is a member/pupil at is hosting an event. This would only be relevant if a player lives in a different county to the venue they are a member/pupil at.
Play Your Way to Wimbledon Adult Doubles
- Any adult player born in 2007 or earlier can enter.
- One of the players from a pair must be from that play county at an event, e.g. if there is an event taking place at a Yorkshire venue, one of the players from the doubles pair must have a play county of Yorkshire.
- The only exception to this is if the LTA Registered Venue the player is a member/student at is hosting an event. This would only be relevant if a player lives in a different county to the venue they are a member/student at.
Play Your Way to Wimbledon Disability (Open)
- Any player eligible for open competition can take part in one of the selected open Regional Series events. To qualify for the National Finals, players must reside in the UK.

14U Junior Singles

Play Your Way to Wimbledon Singles Pathway competitions are hosted at any LTA registered venues, as well as Schools in England, Scotland, Wales, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
The venue can choose the match format, which can be anything from tie-break sets to shorter formats such as FAST4 or Timed Tennis.
The winners of these local events will then go through to their County Finals, with the majority taking place on 27 and 28 June 2026, however, some County Finals may take place on another weekend (County Finals in Scotland will take place on 13 and 14 June 2026).
County Final winners are then invited to compete in the National Finals at Wimbledon from 2 - 8 August 2026.

Area Final winners are then invited to compete in the National Finals at Wimbledon from 2 - 8 August 2026.

There are 2 – 4 Regional Series Tournaments take place prior to the Finals for players to compete in across the following categories: Wheelchair (men’s and women’s), Visually Impaired (men’s and women’s, B1, B2, B3, B4-B5 categories) and Learning Disability (mixed) events.
The Winners and Runners Up from each event are then invited to compete in the National Finals at Wimbledon from 2-8 August 2026.

Wheelchair
- Six men (qualifying winners and runners-up)
- Six women (qualifying winners and runners-up)
- Four juniors (qualifying winners and runners-up)
Learning disability
- Eight mixed players (qualifying winners and runners-up)**
Visually impaired
B1/B2/B3
- Four men (qualifying winners and runners-up)
- Four women ((qualifying winners and runners-up)
B4/B5 - Mixed
- Two men (qualifying winners)
- Two women (qualifying winners)
*If the same player wins multiple events, an additional lucky loser will be added
**All players who have qualified into the PYWTW National Finals are required to have a formal classification through Sport Excel (Virtus - National or International) or Special Olympics by the 27th June 2026.
- Player entry will be on a first come, first served basis.
- There must be a minimum of 3 players/pairs in the venue stage for the winner(s) to be eligible for the next stage of the competition.
- All players must have an ITF World Tennis Number between the following ranges at the time of the venue stage event they are competing in:
- 14U Singles: 32.0-40.9
- 18U Doubles: 28.0-40.9
- 19+ Doubles: 25.0-40.9
- Junior players are eligible to play in both the singles and/or doubles pathway. However, players will only be able to compete in one event at the National Finals. i.e. If they qualify for the singles and doubles, they will need to decide which one they compete in and withdraw from the other.
- If two players pair up and one of the players subsequently withdraws or is unable to take part in the next stage of the competition, the whole pair are withdrawn from the event (reserve players may not come in to make up a pair).
- Any players that have previously received any professional tennis ranking points are not eligible to take part.

The majority of County Finals will be played on the weekend of 27 and 28 June, however, some County Finals will be played on other weekends. Please note, County Finals in Scotland will be played over the weekend of 13 and 14 June. Area Finals will be taking place over the weekend of 20 and 21 June.

Play Your Way to Wimbledon National Finals take place at Wimbledon from 2 - 8 August 2026:
- 14U Singles – 2 – 6 August
- 18U Doubles - 4 – 7 August
- Adult Doubles - 5 – 8 August
- Disability Pathways – 7 – 8 August
All results from Play Your Way to Wimbledon matches will go towards improving your ITF World Tennis Number.
