Redrice Ventures and the LTA announce strategic partnership to back the next generation of racket sports innovation

• 2 minute read

The LTA and Redrice Ventures, a leading investment firm focused on health, wellness and sport, have announced a strategic partnership to identify, support, and champion innovations that advance the future of racket sports in the UK.

The partnership formalises a shared commitment from both organisations to work together in identifying technologies, products, and business models that align with the LTA’s mission: to transform communities through tennis and padel by making the sports welcoming, enjoyable, and inspiring to everyone.

Redrice Ventures, known for its operator-led approach to investment and home to the Redrice Sports Collective — a network led by Sir Andy Murray and Alastair Brownlee OBE, brings deep expertise in identifying and scaling sports and consumer businesses. The LTA, as the governing body for both tennis and padel in Great Britain, brings national infrastructure, grassroots reach, over 10 million players and a vision of tennis and padel opened up.

The partnership will focus on areas central to the LTA’s mission: accessibility, inclusivity, facilities, player pathways from grassroots to elite. More broadly, it will explore opportunities across sport, media, technology that help grow participation, enhance player performance, deepen fan and community engagement, and create new ways for people to experience racquet sports.

Both organisations see significant opportunity at the intersection of sport and technology, and believe that a strategic partnership, combining capital networks with governing body reach, is a powerful vehicle.

Andy Murray, who joined Redrice as an Associate Partner in 2025 said: “I think this is a really interesting partnership for the LTA. I used technology increasingly in my career to help my performance in training and on court. Working with Redrice for the past year, I’ve seen how founders look at things differently and can identify ways to shake up the status quo. I hope this partnership helps to introduce tennis and padel to people who might not have played either sport before.”

Scott Lloyd, LTA Chief Executive, said: “The LTA’s vision is to open up tennis and padel to many more people, and innovation is critical to achieving that goal. This partnership with Redrice brings us closer to the entrepreneurs and technologies that can make our sports more accessible and inclusive, strengthen how players train and perform, and grow the game across Great Britain.”

Tom March, Redrice Ventures, said: “This partnership brings together two organisations that both believe innovation is essential to the future of sport. Redrice has built its reputation on identifying and scaling businesses that can genuinely move the dial — and the LTA’s network, credibility, and mission provide a platform that very few investment partners in the world could match. We’re excited about what we can build together.”

The Redrice Sports Collective, which includes a growing network of elite athletes, operators and advisors across sport, will play an active role in the partnership — contributing sector intelligence, deal-flow, and direct engagement with the businesses the partnership chooses to champion.

Further announcements on specific activities and priorities under the partnership will follow in due course.
