Three US Open titles
It was a successful weekend for the British stars at the US Open, with Neal Skupski, Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid all bringing home silverware.
Skupski won his third men’s doubles Grand Slam title and his second this season with Christian Harrison.
The British-American team defeated sixth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 6-4, 7-6(6) in the final.
Hewett claimed his 11th Grand Slam singles title and fifth at the US Open with an impressive 6-0, 7-6(5) win over world No.1 Tokito Oda.
Finally, Hewett and Reid became US Open men’s wheelchair doubles champions for the first time since 2021 with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Martin de la Puente of Spain and Ruben Spaargaren of the Netherlands.
Basing breaks new ground
23-year-old British star Max Basing won his first career ATP Challenger Tour singles title over the weekend – the biggest trophy of his career so far.
Basing reached the final of the Istanbul Challenger without dropping a set before going on to beat Japanese star Jay Dylan Hara Friend 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 in the final.
The former Stanford University player had a breakthrough summer after qualifying for Wimbledon for the first time – his maiden Grand Slam main draw appearance.
He went on to make the semi-finals at the Lexus Nottingham Challenger a few weeks later, followed by a quarter-final at the Lexus Roehampton Challenger.
His victory in Istanbul sees Basing rise 40 spots to new career-high ranking of world No.219.
Meanwhile, Tom Hands and Matthew Summers made the men’s doubles final at the Cassis Challenger in France but lost out to Dan Added and Daniel Masur 6-4, 6-2.
Haddad & Hurrion win World Tennis Tour singles titles
On the World Tennis Tour, British stars claimed five titles last week and an additional wheelchair tennis trophy.
21-year-old Imogen Haddad came through qualifying to win the W15 Monastir – her first professional singles title.
Lithuanian third seed Andre Lukosiute was forced to retire in the final with the British player leading 7-6(4), 4-1.
Millen Hurrion claimed his third career singles title at the M15 Hurghada. The Brit defeated India’s Aradhya Kshitij 6-3, 6-2 to complete an impressive week without losing a set.
In doubles, Emile Hudd and Aidan McHugh won the M25 Pozzuoli – beating second seeds Melios Efstathiou and Eleftherios Neos 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
McHugh also made the semi-finals of the singles before bowing out to Italian Leonardo Rossi 6-3, 6-4.
Finally, James MacKinlay and Finn Murgett lifted the M25 Sintra title after a 6-2, 3-6, 10-4 final win against Guilherme Valdoleiros and Michael Wright.
Savannah Dada-Mascoll also won the W15 Monastir with Kazakhstan’s Yekaterina Dmitrichenko – her third doubles title of 2026 so far.
They came through an epic final against Doga Turkmen and Alexandra Vagramov 6-4, 6-7(4), 10-8.
In wheelchair tennis, Andrew Penney won the WC100 men’s singles after beating Kouhei Suzuki in the final 7-6(7), 7-5. It’s his first singles title of the 2026 season.
