Chadalawada & Fryer triumph at Whitecraigs, as MacKinlay & McHugh win on World Tennis Tour

A big week on the Tennis Scotland Tour saw players battle for vital leaderboard points at the Scottish Clay Court Championships.
Aadya Iyer Chadalawada and Cameron Fryer were the champions in the Open Tour events at Whitecraigs Tennis Club as the moved a step closer to the year-end finals.
Women’s fifth seed Chadalawada reached the final without dropping a set, before coming from a set down to beat Kate Murray 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 and secure her first TS Open Tour title of the season.
In the men’s event, second seed Fryer enjoyed a similar path to the final, coming through all his matches in straight sets before battling back in the final to beat Nicolas Rosenzweig 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 and landed his third title of the season.
MacKinlay & McHugh celebrate pro titles
James MacKinlay and Aidan McHugh were both celebrating doubles titles on the World Tennis Tour after impressive weeks on court.
MacKinlay teamed up with Finn Murgett at the M25 Sintra in Portugal and eased through the draw, making the final without dropping a set.
There, they came up against local player Guilherme Valdoleiros and his Irish partner Michael Wright and got off to strong start, winning the first set 6-2.
Valdoleiros and Wright fought back to level the match at one set all, but it was MacKinlay and Murgett who prevailed in the match tie-break, taking it 10-4.
McHugh, meanwhile, and partner Emile Hudd carved through the draw at the M25 Pozzuoli in Italy, winning all eight sets on their way to the title.
They faced Cypriot pair Melios Efstathiou and Eleftherios Neos in the final, winning 6-3, 6-1 to get their hands on the title.
