Britain’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll claims Lexus British Pro Series Glasgow doubles title

Britain’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll claimed her biggest title to date with victory in the women’s doubles at the Lexus British Pro Series Glasgow at Scotstoun Community Indoor Tennis Centre.
Yorkshire’s Dada-Mascoll, who has been playing her first full pro season after representing Appalachian State in the NCAA in the USA, paired up with Kenya’s Angella Okutoyi for the event, and earned a big upset early on, defeating British top seeds and recent Lexus Wrexham Open champions Freya Christie and Eden Silva.
After downing the top seeds, confidence was high for the pair, and after another win in the semis to take them into the showpiece tie, Dada-Mascoll and Okutoyi faced the number two seeds in Great Britain’s Amelia Rajecki and Estonia’s Elena Malygina for the title. Rajecki and Malygina started both sets strongly, breaking early to go into 2-0 leads. However, the British-Kenyan pair broke back quickly on both occasions, and went on the claim the title 6-3 6-4 in only 52 minutes.
After the match, Dada-Mascoll, said, “It feels great to win such a big event, especially with someone I have so much fun with. We were laughing the whole week and really enjoying ourselves on court. It’s amazing to win at home in Britain, having the crowd with us was really nice. The facilities and the organisation have been great all week and we’re looking forward to coming back next year.”
In the singles, Suzan Lamens claimed her biggest title since the 2024 WTA 250 Japan Open. The seventh seed from the Netherlands faced the USA’s fifth seed Fiona Crawley in the final, with each having defeated a home favourite in their semi finals: Lamens defeating sixth seed Alicia Dudeney, and Crawley defeating Hannah Klugman, gaining revenge after Klugman defeated her en route to the Lexus Wrexham Open title the week before. Despite the losses, both Dudeney and Klugman have reached career-high rankings after their recent performances, with Dudeney entering the world’s top 200 for the first time.
In a topsy-turvy match, both players found success on the other player’s serve, with eight breaks of serve across the final. After surviving a Crawley fightback in the first set, it was Lamens’ turn to battle in the second, going 3-1 down before mounting a comeback and winning the next five game to secure the title 6-4 6-3.

After the match, Lamens said, “I feel very grateful to win this title. It’s been a tough year for me, but the last few weeks I feel like I’ve been getting back to my best tennis. Everyone has been so lovely all week and super helpful. I played here in Glasgow two years ago and was so happy to come back and have such a fun week.”
Following the conclusion of the singles final, Mike Cohen, Head of Competitions & Events at Tennis Scotland, said, “We’ve had a fantastic week of tennis here at Scotstoun in Glasgow. Congratulations to the singles champion Suzan Lamens and to Britain’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll and her partner Angella Okutoyi on their titles, which were thoroughly deserved. It’s been brilliant to see such strong performances all week and great to see so many spectators come out to enjoy the event. Thank you to everyone involved for helping to make this event such a success.”
