Arthur Fery earns LTA Colour Holder status in Davis Cup clash against Poland

• 1 MINUTE READ

Arthur Fery will become the latest player to make their Davis Cup debut as he gets set to face Poland in a must-win tie for Great Britain against Poland.

Fery will become Colour Holder No.331 as he takes on 21-year-old Olaf Pieczkowski in the second match of the Davis Cup World Group I tie.

The young Brit comes into the team to replace Jacob Fearnley, who was ruled out earlier in the day with injury.

LTA Colour Holders acknowledges, recognises and celebrates players, past and present, who have represented Great Britain in the Davis CupBillie Jean King Cup and Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup, as well as at the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Like a ‘cap’ that a player receives playing for their country in either football or rugby, when a player has competed for Great Britain in tennis, they receive a Colour.

Fery received his first call-up to Captain Leon Smith’s side off the back of a strong season back from injury at the end of 2024.

On his comeback in February, Fery won the Lexus Pro Series Roehampton title and then over the summer, clinched his first Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon – knocking our 2024 Paris Masters champion Alexei Popyrin.

Last month, the 23-year-old came through qualifying to reach the quarter-finals of the Bloomfields Hill Challenger, before going on to lift his first ATP Challenger Tour singles title in Barranquilla without dropping a set.

Currently ranked at world No.227, Fery is supported by the LTA Pro Scholarship Programme presented by Lexus – the highest level of support provided for developing players aged 16-24 with the best chance of reaching the ATP/WTA top 100 singles.
