• 2 MINUTE READ
This year’s wild cards for the Lexus Eastbourne Open have been announced with a host of established and upcoming names amongst those set to compete for the title on the South Coast.
In the women’s singles, Harriet Dart, Francesca Jones, Jodie Burrage and Mimi Xu have all been awarded main draw wild cards.
On the men’s side, Cam Norrie, Dan Evans and Lexus Ilkley Open runner-up Jack Pinnington Jones have all been given the opportunity to compete in the main draw on the South Coast.
Dart, 28, is a former quarter-finalist in Eastbourne and has built a reputation over the years as one of Britain’s strongest players on the grass. She’s made the third round at Wimbledon twice – including last season – and has also made quarter-finals at WTA events in Nottingham and Birmingham in the past.
Jones is coming off the back of a second round outing at the Lexus Nottingham Open this week, where she got the better of Dart before losing out to seventh seed Linda Noskova.
The 24-year-old Briton has been in impressive form this season, winning two ITF W75 titles and qualifying for the main draw of her first WTA 1000 at the Mutua Madrid Open.
Burrage is a former Nottingham finalist and is making her return to the grass in 2025 having missed last year’s campaign with injury. A former top 100 player, Burrage began her season on the grass with a win at the Lexus Birmingham Open and will be hoping to get some victories under her belt at the tournament where she clinched the best result of her career against former world No.2 Paula Badosa.
17-year-old Xu has been one of the stories of the summer so far. The young Briton – who is supported by the LTA Pro Scholarship Programme, presented by Lexus – reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 125 in Birmingham and picked up wins in Ilkley and Nottingham.
All four women’s players also recently received main draw wild cards into Wimbledon main draw:

Norrie will be arriving fresh off the back of a semi-final appearance in the doubles draw at The Queen's Club where he partnered British No.2 Jacob Fearnley.
Norrie bowed out in the first round of the singles draw to a spirited Brandon Nakashima but gained valuable match time on the grass in the doubles draw which he'll look to carry with him into Eastbourne.
The 29-year-old has been finding his form of late, having reached the semi-finals at the Geneva Open and fourth round at Roland Garros.
Former quarter-finalist Evans will be fuelled with confidence heading into the ATP 250 event after clinching his first win against a top 20 opponent since 2023 against Frances Tiafoe at the HSBC Championships. Evans - who has been ranked as high as No.21 in the world - has produced some impressive displays on the grass so far, having also come through qualifying to reach the main draw at the Libema Open at the beginning of the month.
Pinnington Jones has embarked on a standout grass court swing on British soil so far. The 22-year-old entered the Lexus Ilkley Open as a wild card and enjyed a run to a career-first ATP Challenger final where he narrowly lost out to Australia's Tristan Schoolkate.
The Texas Christian University graduate will be hoping to continue his winning form on the grass ahead of making his Grand Slam main draw debut at Wimbledon where he's received a wild card.
