The singles draws have been announced for WTA 125 and ATP Challenger 125 events at the Lexus Birmingham Open with British stars set to kick-start the grass court.

The main draws of the Lexus Birmingham Open get underway from Monday 1 June with all the action shown live on Tennis Channel.

British quartet feature in strong women’s singles draw

Wild card Harriet Dart is the highest ranked British player in the women’s singles draw and will face fifth seed Nikola Bartunkova in the first round.

Dart is a former quarter-finalist in Birmingham and will look to bring her wealth of grass court experience to the Edgbaston Priory Club this year.

One of the standout match-ups in the opening round features a recent junior Grand Slam champion and junior world No.1 as Britain’s Mika Stojsavljevic and Australia’s Emerson Jones have been drawn together in Birmingham.

Former junior US Open winner Stojsavljevic beat Jones en route to her title in New York but this will be a first professional meeting between the two 17-year-olds.

Katie Swan will play two-time Wimbledon quarter-finalist and seventh seed Ajla Tomljanovic with the winner facing either Britain’s Alicia Dudeney or Australia’s Taylah Preston.

All four British players feature in the bottom half of the draw.

Top seed Alexandra Eala will open her account in Birmingham against Priscilla Hon, last year’s HSBC Championships winner Tatjana Maria will play Linda Fruhvirtova, and second seed Janice Tjen has drawn a qualifier.

In the men’s singles, Jacob Fearnley has been dealt a tough draw against fifth seed and last year’s Wimbledon men’s doubles finalist, Rinky Hijikata.

Arthur Fery will play reigning Lexus Ilkley Open champion Tristan Schoolkate in the first round before a potential match-up with top seed and world No.73, Mattia Bellucci.

Last year’s Ilkley runner-up Jack Pinnington Jones is set for a opening round clash with Aleksandar Vukic and could play Birmingham champion Otto Virtanen in round two.
