The best moments from the ATP event at the HSBC Championships

• 2 MINUTE READ

A fortnight of world class, showstopping tennis has come to an end at the HSBC Championships as we wave goodbye to the historic Queen’s Club for another year.

Just like the WTA event a week prior, the men’s event at brought plenty of moments to remember and we’re here to take one final look at the action.

From our favourite photo, to quote of the week, the best of social media and a moment you might’ve missed, we break down all of the best bits from this year’s ATP 500 event at the HSBC Championships.

Photo of the week

Carlos Alcaraz arrived in London just six days after his unforgettable comeback victory over world No.1 Jannik Sinner to clinch back-to-back titles at Roland Garros.

Coming into the tournament, he admitted he set his expectations low but just a few days later the five-time major champion was lifting the HSBC Championships trophy on the Andy Murray Area.

His 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-2 win over Czech star Jiri Lehecka marked the Spaniard's second title at Queen's and fourth on the grass as he continues to establish his dominance on the surface.

Moment of the week

It was a week full of British wins on home turf but one of the standout moments of the week came in the opening round where wild card Dan Evans produced a win for ages as he knocked out seventh seed Frances Tiafoe in straight sets.

His impressive display against the American led him to earn his first win at The Queen's Club since 2021 and his first over a top 20 player since 2023.

Quote of the week

It was a week to remember for Draper who enjoyed a run to his first HSBC Championships semi-final at The Queen's Club.

The Brit claimed some statement wins against Jenson Brooksby, Alexei Popyrin and Brandon Nakashima on his way to reaching a 12th ATP Tour-level semi-final where he was narrowly beaten by eventual runner-up Jiri Lehecka.

After booking his ticket to the final four, Draper was emotional when talking on court about his win and the support he received from the British crowd throughout the week:

To be in the semi-final here is honestly something I’ve wanted since I was a little kid - it means everything to me.

Storyline of the week

Lehecka's run to a first grass court ATP final has been a storyline we've loved watching unfold at this year's HSBC Championships.

The world No.30 kick-started his campaign with a straight sets win over world No.12 and fifth seed Alex de Minaur before downing recently crowned Boss Open champion Gabriel Diallo.

From then on, Lehecka had to fight his way past two British players in Jacob Fearnley and second seed Draper, as well as a supportive home crowd, on his way to becoming the second Czech man in the Open Era to reach the Queen's final.

While he failed to clinch his second victory of the year over champion Alcaraz, the 23-year-old will leave with plenty of confidence having reached a maiden ATP 500 final and could be a dark horse heading into Wimbledon in just one week's time.

In case you missed it

The finals weekend welcomed the addition of a world-class wheelchair exhibition event at The Queen’s Club to mark the start of the grass court season for the wheelchair tennis players.

20-time Grand Slam winning duo Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid were back in action as they took on two top 10 players in Spain’s Martin De La Puente and Daniel Caverzaschi.

The second day of the event saw Hewett and Reid battle against each other in the singles match, where the former prevailed 6-3, 6-2.

The pair then joined forces for a doubles event against De La Puente and Caverzaschi, with the Spaniards coming through in the match-deciding tie-break, 7-5, 5-7, 10-6.

The wheelchair tennis stars will now turn their attention to the upcoming event in Eastbourne before heading to the Lexus British Open Roehampton where they will compete ahead of Wimbledon.

Shot of the week

Our ATP stars gifted us to a whole host of hot shots across the week. From forehand winners down the line to volleys, lobs and more – we really have seen it all this week.

It’s been a tough one to call, but we’ve opted for rocket of a forehand from our champion in his opening round match against Australia’s Adam Walton.

Best of social media

The British fans were out in full force this week, with thousands flocking to The Queen’s Club to get a glimpse of their favourite players in action.

With a stacked line-up of homegrown talent, fans we’re rallying behind British No.1 Jack Draper who enjoyed a run to a first semi-final at the HSBC Championships.

From, thousands cheering his name to British flags lining the rows of the Andy Murray Arena, this dedicated fan definitely stood out from the crowd.
