Davis Cup 2026: Great Britain draw Germany in quarter-final

The Lexus Great Britain Davis Cup team have been drawn against Germany in the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna.
The Davis Cup Final 8 will take place between 24-29 November and will bring together the top eight nations to the final rounds of the men's World Cup of tennis.
Great Britain enters as one of four unseeded nations and are set to take on third seeds Germany before a potential semi-final clash against Spain.

All ties will be played as a best-of-three matches – including two singles followed by one doubles match.
Great Britain booked their place in the Davis Cup Final 8 for the first time since 2023 with a 4-0 victory over Ecuador in their second round Qualifier at London's Copper Box Arena.
Wins from British No.1 Arthur Fery, doubles pair Henry Patten and Neal Skupski and debutants Toby Samuel and Harry Wendelken sealed the tie. Great Britain are now unbeaten in the Davis Cup in 2026, after also defeating Norway 4-0 in February's first round Qualifier.
Meanwhile, Germany secured their spot in the Final 8 after beating Croatia 3-1 in the second round Qualifiers, after two-time Grand Slam champion Alexander Zverev won both his singles matches and US Open runners-up Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz sealed victory in the doubles rubber.
Germany are three-time Davis Cup champions, having lifted the title in 1988, 1989 and 1993.
The two nations have met 11 times in the tournament, with Germany edging the head-to-head 6-5. Their most recent tie came in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Finals, with Germany winning 2-1.
