Overseas Criminal Record check
DBS checks do not include information from overseas police forces, which means that people who have recently moved to the UK may be required to also obtain an Overseas Criminal Records (OCR) check.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to get their Overseas Criminal Record (OCR) checks from the relevant country/ies.
Note: You can still apply for a DBS whilst acquiring your OCR but it will not be uploaded to your LTA account until we have your overseas certificate/s.
You will need an OCR check if you meet all three of the below criteria:
- In the last five years, you have lived in another country/countries outside of the UK
- You have lived in that country/countries for a total period of at least 6 months
- You intend to apply for LTA Qualifications, Coach Accreditation, Official Licence or work/volunteer as a Welfare Officer.
Note: tennis venues are advised to adopt a similar process when engaging staff/volunteers from overseas.

Please create an LTA account here if you do not have one. We will not be able to accept your OCR without this.
OCR certificate/s
These must be from the country/ies you have lived in for a total of more than 6 months in the last 5 years.

Please get your OCR certificate/s translated to English as this will speed up the process.
References
You are required to give us the contact details of two referees which we will contact.
One must be your most recent employer and the other must be someone from within a sporting environment who you have had contact with in the last 6 months.
We cannot accept family members or friends as referees.
Please make sure you let them know we will be contacting them prior to you giving us their details. The referees will be sent a reference form to complete and return to us directly.

Once you have all of the above please fill in the form here.
Only once we have your completed references and uploaded your OCR certificate/s to your LTA account, can we then accept a UK DBS.
