Rally Together London
Opening up tennis across the capital
Rally Together London, delivered in partnership between the Mayor of London and the LTA, is an ambitious programme that will introduce thousands of young Londoners to tennis while developing a new generation of community leaders across the capital.
London is one of the world's most diverse and dynamic cities, yet too many young people still face barriers to taking part in sport and physical activity. Rally Together London will help address those barriers by creating opportunities for young people to discover tennis in welcoming community settings, providing clear pathways into volunteering, coaching, leadership and employment within the sport.
Our Ambition
With an investment of £500,000 over three years, Rally Together London will create opportunities for more young people and communities to benefit from tennis, both on and off the court.
By 2028, we will:
- Introduce 5,500 young people to tennis, creating opportunities for young Londoners to pick up a racket, get active and enjoy the physical, social and wellbeing benefits of the sport.
- Recruit and train 250 people mostly from underrepresented backgrounds to join the tennis workforce as volunteers, activators, coaches and community leaders, helping to grow the game within their local communities.
- Ensure that at least 50% of workforce recruits are women, helping to build a workforce that better reflects the diversity of London and the communities we serve.
Together, these ambitions will help create a stronger, more accessible and more inclusive future for tennis across the capital.
Developing London's next generation of tennis leaders
A thriving tennis community relies on the people who make it happen. That's why workforce development sits at the heart of Rally Together London.
Rally Together London is creating opportunities to for both coaches and activators to play across both park and community settings by making tennis welcoming and accessible for young people who may not have considered it as a sport for them. The programme will equip them with skills, experience and confidence to make a difference in their local areas.
Participants will have opportunities to develop as:
- Volunteers
- Tennis Activators
- Coaches
- Officials
- Community Leaders

By supporting more young people to play and creating clear pathways into activator, coaching and leadership roles, we can ensure the sport is more accessible, diverse and representative of modern London.
What does Rally Together London offer?
he Rally Together London project is made up of three separate but interlinked offers:
1. Community Offer
The Community Offer empowers community youth organisations to deliver tennis in their community settings alongside inspirational opportunities.
Through an enhanced LTA SERVES package, we provide training, equipment, mentoring with a local tennis expert, opportunities to attend tennis major events in London, and inspirational tennis festivals for activators and participants to kick-start tennis in community venues over five six-month cohorts.
2. Park Traineeship Offer
The Park Traineeship Offer is 'earn-while-you-learn' scheme, providing 6-month job opportunities for young Londoners to gain coaching and officiating qualifications alongside a part-time job with local park tennis operators and coaching providers across London.
3. Barclays Free Park Tennis Offer
Our specific Rally Together London Barclays Free Park Tennis offer provides young Londoners with activator training to equip them to deliver free weekly sessions at local park tennis venues.
Activators can then unlock rewards such as kit, free local playing opportunities, tickets to events, and experience & employability days by delivering sessions locally to them.
