British doubles duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool have achieved LTA Colour Holder status after making their Davis Cup debut against Poland.
Cash and Glasspool were called up for the doubles rubber in the Lexus GB Davis Cup team’s clash with Poland in the World Group I tie in Polsat Plus Arena in Gdynia.
The Brits are set to face Karol Drzewiecki and Jan Zielinski in the third match of the tie. A win would see GB through to the 2026 Qualifiers.
World No.2 Cash will be the Colour Holder No.332, while world No.1 Glasspool will be Colour Holder No.333.
LTA Colour Holders acknowledges, recognises and celebrates players, past and present, who have represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup and Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup, as well as at the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Like a ‘cap’ that a player receives playing for their country in either football or rugby, when a player has competed for Great Britain in tennis, they receive a Colour.
Cash and Glasspool earnt their first Davis Cup call-up this year off the back of the best season of their careers in their first full year together on tour.
The Brits have won six titles, including a first Grand Slam trophy at Wimbledon, the ATP Masters 1000 National Bank Open, and the HSBC Championships at The Queen’s Club.
They became the first all-British pair to win the Wimbledon men's doubles title for 89 years. So far this season they have won a total of 50 matches on the ATP Tour.
Their results have seen them rise to the very top of the ATP rankings and the duo currently sit as the No.1 ranked team in the Doubles Race for the Nitto ATP Finals.
They are two of five British players currently ranked inside the ATP doubles top 11. Between them, they boast two titles and two finals at Grand Slams this year. There has been a British representative in every Grand Slam final this year.
