Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara have continued their fast start to the 2026 season by picking up their second ATP title in as many months at the Qatar Open.
The British, Finnish won their 10th ATP title together after defeating all-British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 10 minutes.
Patten and Heliovaara have now won four of the last five tournaments they’ve competed in, including the Adelaide International in January, the Rolex Paris Masters and Nitto ATP Finals at the end of last year.
Speaking on the victory, Finland's Heliovaara said, "We finished the end of 2025 really strong and just to keep that form in 2026, it’s been a dream six months for us.
"With Henry, it’s always lovely to play. I had my family here in Doha this week — my wife and two kids — so it's always special to travel with them."
Henry Patten & Harri Heliovaara road to the Qatar Open title
- Final: won vs Julian Cash (GBR) & Lloyd Glasspool (GBR) 6-3, 6-3
- Semi-final: won vs Andrea Vavassori (ITA) and Simone Bolelli (ITA) 7-5, 6-4
- Quarter-final: won vs Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE) & Alexei Popyrin (AUS) 7-6(8), 7-6(5)
- First round: won vs Andrey Rublev & Karen Khachanov 7-5, 6-3
The two-time Grand Slam winning pair have been a dominant force in Doha, wrapping up the title without dropping a set across their four matches.
Patten and Heliovaara carried their impressive form into Friday’s final, where they looked to exploit their opponents’ early difficulties on serve, with the all-British duo landing just 48% of first serves in the opening set.
A double fault from Glasspool in the sixth game proved costly for the reigning Wimbledon champions and handed the third seeds the decisive break before they confidently closed out the set.
The 2025 Australian Open champions made another fast start in the second set, securing an immediate break to maintain their momentum.
At 4-3 down, Cash and Glasspool looked to be on their way to recovering the deficit as they carved out three break points on Heliovaara's serve, but the 10-time ATP titleholders stood firm under pressure. A clinical put away at the net from Patten helped pull his team back to deuce before the Finnish star sent a forehand through the middle of the court to escape unscathed.
Patten and Heliovaara quickly flipped the pressure back onto their opponents, earning three championship points in the following game. The top seeds fended off the first two but it was third time lucky for the reigning Nitto ATP Finals champions, who secured victory as Cash hit a volley into the net.
