• 1 minute read

Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara got their 2026 season off to a winning start – lifting the men’s doubles title at the Adelaide International.

The second seeds won their ninth ATP title together after defeating fourth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz in the final 6-3, 6-2.

Patten and Heliovaara have picked up titles at their last three tournaments – including the Rolex Paris Masters and the Nitto ATP Finals at the end of 2025. They’ve won 12 of their last 13 matches.

Henry Patten & Harri Heliovaara’s path to Adelaide International title

  • Final: Kevin Krawietz (GER) & Tim Puetz (GER) (2) 6-3, 6-2
  • Semi-final: Andrea Vavassori (ITA) & Simone Bolelli (ITA) (6) 6-4, 7-5

  • Second round: Mark Wallner (GER) & Jakob Schnaitter (GER) 6-4, 2-6, 10-6

The British, Finnish duo took home the Adelaide trophy in dominant fashion, losing just won set in their four matches.

A straight sets win over Argentina’s Andres Molteni and Maximo Gonzalez in the quarter-finals was followed by a 6-4, 7-5 semi-final win against sixth seeds Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli in a repeat of last year’s Australian Open final.

In the final, Patten and Heliovaara got off to a quick start against German fourth seeds Krawietz and Puetz, breaking early for a 3-0 lead.

Another quick break in the second set, accompanied by an impressive serving performance – dropping just four points behind their first serve – Patten and Heliovaara saw out their first title win in just 66 minutes.

Patten and Heliovaara now head to Melbourne Park for the Australian Open where they will aim to defend their title.

Last year, Patten became only the fourth British player to win multiple men’s doubles Grand Slam trophies in the Open Era, joining Roger Taylor, Jamie Murray and Joe Salisbury.

He is also one of only three British players to win the men’s doubles title in Melbourne (Murray in 2016 and Salisbury in 2019).
