Harry Wendelken becomes latest LTA Colour Holder following Davis Cup debut

Harry Wendelken has become the latest British tennis player to achieve his LTA Colour Holder status following his Davis Cup debut.
Wendelken was called up for the fourth singles rubber in the Lexus GB Davis Cup team’s Qualifier second round tie against Ecuador at the Copper Box Arena in London.
Wendelken faced Angel Veliz in his first Davis Cup match, becoming LTA Colour Holder No.336.
He joins Toby Samuel as the second British player to receive their LTA Colour Holder status this weekend.
LTA Colour Holders acknowledges, recognises and celebrates players, past and present, who have represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup and Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup, as well as at the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Like a ‘cap’ that a player receives when playing for their country in either football or rugby, when a player has competed for Great Britain in tennis, they receive a Colour.
Last year, Wendelken enjoyed a breakthrough on the ATP Challenger Tour after lifting his first title in Hersonissos at the end of the 2025 season. Since then, he’s gone on to finish runner-up at a further three Challenger events and lifted his sixth career singles title at the M25 Sheffield back in February.
He recently reached the main draw at a Grand Slam on his own merit for the first time, fighting through a trio of three-set battles on his way to qualifying for the US Open.
The Brit - who is supported by the LTA’s NTC Pro Access programme – is now sat at a career-high ranking of world No.175 and will look to keep building the momentum through the latter stages of the season.
