Lexus Birmingham Open 2026 player list
British players
Britain’s Harriet Dart has a wild card into a strong women's singles draw in Birmingham this year.
Dart has showcased some of her best tennis on the grass in previous years, including quarter-final runs in Birmingham and Nottingham, as well as a third round appearance at Wimbledon.
She has already won two W100 doubles titles this year and will be looking to carry her form onto the grass.
In the men's event, Jacob Fearnley and Jack Pinnington Jones will lead the British challenge. Fearnley is a former Lexus Nottingham Open champion and last year made the quarter-finals of the HSBC Championships. A former top-100 player, the Brit will look to kick-start his grass court season in the Midlands.
Pinnington Jones had a memorable grass-court season, highlighted by reaching his first ATP Challenger final in Ilkley, recording his first Grand Slam main-draw win at Wimbledon, and winning a maiden Challenger title in Nottingham.
There are a few British players currently on the qualifying entry lists, including Billy Harris, Arthur Fery, Toby Samuel and Charles Broom.

Ones to watch

One of last year’s breakthrough stars Alexandra Eala headlines the WTA event, with the Filipino star set to make her Lexus Birmingham Open debut.
The 20-year-old made headlines last year, reaching the semi-finals in Miami and has continued to flourish. She has recorded some standout results already this year, including quarter-final runs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Talia Gibson is another player to watch in Birmingham, following a standout six months on the WTA Tour. The Australian burst onto the scene at Indian Wells back in March, taking down three seeded players to reach the quarter-finals, before reaching the fourth round in Miami.
Meanwhile, last year’s HSBC Championships winner Tatjana Maria will look to continue her success on the grass as she bids to pick up a second title on the surface.
In the men’s Challenger event Nicolai Budkov-Kjaer will be one to watch following a memorable 2025 season that saw him capture four ATP Challenger titles.
Eliot Spizzirri could be tipped for an impressive run on the grass this summer, following a string of strong results so far this year. The American reached the quarter-final of the ATP 250 tournament in Auckland and made the third round at the Australian Open where he took a set off world No.1 Jannik Sinner.
British success at the Lexus Birmingham Open
There is yet to be a British singles champion at the Lexus Birmingham Open but could 2026 be the year that changes?
With a host of home talent set to compete and the home crowd behind them, this could be the first year we see a home favourite take home the title.
Meanwhile, Jo Durie and Anne Hobbs are the only Brits to have lifted the doubles trophy. Their title came in the first year of the tournament (1982), where they beat American, Australian duo Rosie Casals and Wendy Turnbull 6-3, 6-2.
