HSBC Championships 2026: Jack Pinnington Jones, Arthur Fery & Toby Samuel join singles draw as wild cards

• 2 minute read

Three British players have been received as wild card entries for the ATP 500 singles event at the HSBC Championships from 15-21 June at The Queen’s Club.

British No.4 Jack Pinnington Jones, along with Arthur Fery and Toby Samuel, will all be making their main draw debut at The Queen’s Club next week.

They’ll join British No.1 Cam Norrie as they bring the total Brits in the main draw up to four so far before qualifying gets underway from 13-14 June.

Three additional qualifying wild cards have been awarded to Harry Wendelken, Johannus Monday, and Liam Broady.

World No.6 Alex de Minaur, 2025 runner-up Jiri Lehecka, and rising star Rafael Jodar in the line-up for the ATP crown at the HSBC Championships.

Pinnington Jones had a grass season to remember last year - finishing runner-up in his debut ATP Challenger final in front of home crowds at the Lexus Ilkley Open.

The British No.4 then recorded his first-ever Grand Slam win in the first round of Wimbledon against Tomas Martin Etcheverry before picking up his first ATP Challenger title on the grass at the Nottingham Challenger later that month.

With a run through qualifying to the Dallas Open quarter-finals earlier this year under his belt and grass court wins in Birmingham and Ilkley already, he’s proving he’s one to watch on the Tour.

Fery kicked off his grass court season with an appearance in the semi-finals at the Lexus Birmingham Open - his first ATP Challenger semi-final on grass.

This continues a positive season for the Brit who made it to the Australian Open second round on his main draw debut as a qualifier - beating recent Roland Garros runner-up Flavio Cobolli - and qualified for the Miami Open to make his first Masters 1000 appearance.

Having only appeared in qualifying here in 2023, Fery will hope to keep up this run of form as he joins the HSBC Championships main draw for the first time.

Samuel has made a name for himself on the Challenger Tour this year. Following an M25 win in Portugal, the Brit picked up two back-to-back titles in Greece to make it 15 matches unbeaten.

The British No.8 then made his Grand Slam debut, beating former world No.7 David Goffin on his way to qualifying for the Roland Garros main draw.

He’s currently sitting at his career-high ranking at world No. 150 as he hopes to replicate some of these results on the grass.

You can watch all the action from the HSBC Championships live across the BBC and BBC digital services.
