The Lexus Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team will take on Japan in the quarter-finals at the 2025 Finals.
This year’s Billie Jean King Cup Finals will take place at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre Arena in Shenzhen, China from 16-21 September, with eight nations set to compete in a knockout format.
Great Britain’s quarter-final match against Japan will see the winner move on to face either Kazakhstan or the USA in the semi-finals.
Billie Jean King Cup Finals first round draw:
- Great Britain vs Japan
- Italy vs China
- Spain vs Ukraine
- Kazakhstan vs USA
All ties at the 2025 Finals will comprise three matches - two singles followed by a doubles match, and will be played as best-of-three tie-break sets.
Great Britain cemented their spot in the Finals after beating the Netherlands and Germany in their Group D Qualifier in The Hague last month. Victories from Sonay Kartal, Katie Boulter and Jodie Burrage helped carry them over the line to successive Finals.
Meanwhile, Japan edged out 2023 champions Canada and Romania to book their place in the Finals in Shenzhen. Last year saw Japan reach the quarter-finals where they lost out to eventual champions Italy, 2-1.
More information, including the schedule and ticket details, will be available over the coming weeks.
