Billie Jean King Cup 2025: Francesca Jones joins Lexus GB team for Finals in Shenzhen
Francesca Jones is set to join up with the Lexus GB Billie Jean King Cup squad for the upcoming Finals in Shenzhen.
Jones will replace British No.1 Emma Raducanu who withdrew from the squad earlier today.
She adds to a strong GB side that already includes British No.2 Katie Boulter, world No.51 Sonay Kartal and Jodie Burrage.
The 24-year-old has received the call up off the back of a standout year. Jones has so far hauled four titles this season, including two WTA 125 titles in one month in Contrexeville and Palermo.
She also picked up WTA Tour wins on the grass in Nottingham and Eastbourne and more recently, fought through three rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw at the US Open for the first time in her career.
As a result, Jones was rewarded with a breakthrough into the world’s top 100 and has clocked a career-high ranking of world No.84.
Great Britain will kick-start their campaign against Japan in the quarter-finals of the Billie Jean King Cup on Thursday 18 September.
The GB team will be bidding to win their maiden Billie Jean King Cup title.
