Job Description

An enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a real passion for developing tennis is required to join a forward thinking, motivated team. Elmbridge Leisure and Cultural Services is a fast-moving Division dedicated to providing high quality services, which meet the needs of the community and contribute to a better quality of life.

In 2017 Elmbridge and the LTA committed to improving the provision of tennis across the borough. Together we are working on a new Borough Tennis Development Plan. The TDO will own, manage and implement the key actions of the plan to drive the development of parks tennis forward to maximise participation.

A new system for booking and accessing courts was introduced along with a new approach to coaching providers across 7 park tennis court sites. The partnership which aims to develop tennis within Elmbridge is also making use of a new online system to help develop a sustainable program across all sites within the Borough.

Working within the Leisure Development Team, the suitable candidate will need to have an excellent knowledge of tennis development as well as demonstrable experience in providing tennis to the community. You will be required to work strategically, and have experience of managing budgets, apply for grants and sponsorship.

To succeed you will need a degree or diploma in a sports related subject, a good working knowledge of local, regional and national initiatives, products and campaigns. It is key that you have good communication skills and the ability to develop excellent working partnerships with coaches, clubs, schools and other internal and external agencies. You will need a flexible approach to work, a full driving license and access to a vehicle to enable travel throughout the Borough.
