After back-to-back ATP 1000 events on the US hard courts, it’s time for the return of the European clay court season with one of the biggest events of the season – the Monte-Carlo Masters. Find out everything you need to know about this year’s event, which British stars are playing and how to watch at home.

When is the Monte-Carlo Masters 2022?

Qualifying for the Monte-Carlo Masters will take place between Saturday 9 April and Sunday 10 April.

First round matches in the main draw will get underway from Monday 11 April through to the finals day on 17 April.

Where is the Monte-Carlo Masters 2022 being held?

The maiden clay court Masters event of the season returns to the Monte-Carlo County Club this year – one of the most iconic venues on the tour. Situated on the sea-front, the stunning views from the courts make it one of the most popular events of the year.

The venue is actually situated just outside of Monte-Carlo and Monaco, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Cam Norrie lines up as the seventh seed after breaking into the top 10 for the first time this week. In his one and only appearance at the event in 2019, Norrie reached the third round before going out to Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego.

Dan Evans returns the Monte-Carlo where he reached the semi-finals last year, defeating 20-time grand slam champion and then world No.1 Novak Djokovic, as well as Hubert Hurkacz and David Goffin along the way.

Doubles

Newly crowned world No.1 Joe Salisbury is the top seed in the doubles alongside Rajeev Ram. The duo have only played the event together once, going out in the second round to Raven Klaasen and Ben McLachlan.

Neal Skupski and Wesley Koolhof enter off the back of finishing runners up at the Miami Open. The seventh seeds will be looking to add a fourth title of the season at their first clay event in 2022.

Jamie Murray is set to compete at Monte Carlo for a tenth time, returning with newly announced partner, India's Rohan Bopanna.

Skupski finished runner-up in Monte-Carlo last year with fellow Brit Evans, who could line-up in the draw alongside Diego Schwartzman. Meanwhile Norrie teams up with Alex de Minaur once again.
