British doubles duo Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski have been one of the most consistent doubles pairings of the 2025 season.
In their first full year together on tour, Salisbury and Skupski reached two Grand Slam finals, finished runners-up at the Nitto ATP Finals and ended the season ranked inside the top 10.

Joe Salisbury & Neal Skupski’s biggest win of the 2025 season:

After a strong second half season Salisbury and Skupski qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals as two of five Brits in the year-end event.
Salisbury headed to the Finals as the only British player to have ever won the doubles tournament – lifting the title twice in 2022 and 2023 – and his and Skupski’s experience proved a decisive factor in Turin.
The British duo finished top of their group with three wins out of three – including a three set victory over eventual champions Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara.
In the semi-finals, they came up against No.1 ranked team in the world, Wimbledon champions and fellow Brits, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.
Salisbury and Skupski had lost their previous three meetings with the world No.1 and No.2 during the season, but managed to claim victory at the fourth time of asking.
The Brits came back from a set down to win 6-7(3), 6-3, 10-8, which marked Salisbury’s 14th consecutive victory at the Finals.
The duo eventually finished runners-up after losing their rematch with Patten and Heliovaara in the final,

In 2025, Salisbury and Skupski achieved something that no British pair had done since 1936 – reach the final of Roland Garros.
Before this year’s event, no British player had made the final of the French Open men’s doubles in the Open Era, but Salisbury and Skupski looked on the path to make history after beating Matthew Ebden and John Peers in the quarter-finals.
In the semi-finals they met American duo Christian Harrison and Evan King – who, like Salisbury and Skupski ended up qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals
In a blockbuster semi-final, the Brits came back from a set down and then 5-3 in the third set to win 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(10-7) and book their place in the final.

Salisbury and Skupski reached two Grand Slam finals at the French Open and US Open, as well as a quarter-final at Wimbledon.

This photo was taken during the Brits run to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon this year as they defeated Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni in the third round.
Skupski is trying to fire up the crowd and get the home fans behind them, while Salisbury is laser focused with a simple fist pump celebration.
Skupski is a former champion at Wimbledon and knows how to feed off that atmosphere, while Salisbury has had great success at SW19 himself, reaching the mixed doubles final twice, including this year.

It’s been quite a few years now where we’ve had a strong group of British doubles players. There’s been a lot of players in the top 50 but now we’ve had five in the top 10. To have this many in the tour finals is amazing.
What’s next for Joe Salisbury & Neal Skupski in 2026?:
Salisbury is set to take a break from tennis at the start of the 2026 season but is hoping to return to court during the year.
Skupski will start 2026 with a new partner in Harrison – currently ranked as the world No.15 in ATP doubles.
The duo have never played together but will be hoping to get their new partnership off to a flying start Down Under at the beginning of the year.
A former Wimbledon champion, Skupski will be hoping to add another Grand Slam title to his already illustrious career and go one step further than his two finals this year.
Salisbury said in his post-match press conference at the Nitto ATP Finals that he would like to play with Skupski again when he returns, but admitted it will likely depend on where his fellow Brit is at when he rejoins the tour.
