Away from the excitement of Wimbledon, it’s been another successful week for the British tennis stars competing on the tours, with three ATP Challenger singles titles.

Henry Searle and Jacob Fearnley captured grass court titles in Nottingham and Newport, while British No.3 Jan Choinski added another clay court trophy.

Former Wimbledon boys’ champion Searle has had a breakout summer at the pro level – winning his second ATP Challenger singles title in a month.

The Dublin Challenger winner starred at the Lexus Nottingham Challenger last week – the final stop of the British grass court season as part of the LTA Performance Competition Calendar.

20-year-old Searle knocked out fellow British stars Johannus Monday and Max Basing in the quarter and semi-finals to set up a championship decider with top seed Clement Chidekh.

The young Brit continued his impressive form in the final, defeating the Frenchman 6-4, 6-4 to take home the trophy.

Searle has soared up the rankings this summer and is now sitting just outside the top 200 at world No.214.

Britain’s Tom Hands and Matthew Summers were also crowned champions in the Nottingham men’s doubles – beating Arda Azkara and S Mert Ozdemir 6-4, 4-6, 12-10.

Fearnley’s strong grass court campaign reached new heights with his title win at the Newport Challenger in the US.

The former British No.2, who made the final of the Lexus Ilkley Open, clinched his first singles title of the season and fifth Challenger-level trophy of his career.

Fearnley came through four three-set matches to get his hands on the Newport title.

In the semi-final, he beat Alexis Galarneau 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4, before saving six match points in an epic final against fourth seed Adam Walton to win 5-7, 7-6(8), 6-4.

Meanwhile, in Germany, Choinski returned to the clay to capture the 19th singles title of his career at the Braunschweig Challenger.

Choinski – who broke into the top 100 recently after a quarter-final run at the Lexus Eastbourne Open – defeated France’s Hugo Gaston in the final 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

The British star is now at a career-high world No.75 coming off the back of his victory in the first round of Wimbledon.
