Three British women’s players have direct entry into the singles main draw at the Cincinnati Open, including Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter and Sonay Kartal.

Raducanu heads to Cincinnati having regained her place as British No.1 off the back of an impressive start to the American hard-court swing. The 22-year-old made the semi-finals of the WTA 500 in Washington with wins over Marta Kostyuk, four-time major champion Naomi Osaka and former world No.3 Maria Sakkari, and has also made a strong start to her campaign at the National Bank Open WTA 1000 in Montreal.

Boulter will be hoping to reignite her form ahead of the fourth Grand Slam of the season. After a mixed grass court season, where she managed to make the quarter-finals of the Lexus Nottingham Open, Boulter is searching for her first win on the hard courts since Indian Wells.

Kartal made a name for herself this summer with a fourth round run at Wimbledon and has broken into the world’s top 50. This will be the young Brit’s first tournament on the hard courts ahead of the US Open.

Cam Norrie and Jacob Fearnley both have direct entry into the men’s singles draw this year. Norrie says he’s really enjoying his tennis at the moment and it’s easy to see why. The former world No.8 has been saving his best tennis for the big occasions, making the fourth round at Roland Garros, a second Wimbledon quarter-final and recently beating then world No.7 Lorenzo Musetti in Washington.

Fearnley is back in the States where he made a name for himself in the NCAA just a couple of seasons ago. The 24-year-old won three Challenger titles on hard courts at the end of last year and will be hoping to spark more success in 2025.

Jack Draper will not be competing at the Cincinnati Open this year as he continues preparations for the US Open.

Cincinnati Open prize money
