Brits star in Dublin, Bali & Roehampton
Last week saw five British champions on the ITF World Tennis Tour – including singles trophies for Alastair Gray and Max Basing.
Former world No.237 Gray clinched his fourth title of the season at the M15 Dublin, coming through a talented field of British and Irish players.
Gray defeated Ireland’s Michael Agwi in the final, coming back from a set down to win 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Meanwhile, Basing secured the second singles title of his career at the M15 Bali – his second title in Indonesia in two years.
The 22-year-old – who competed in the NCAA for Stanford University – won the trophy without dropping a set throughout the tournament, finishing with a 6-0, 7-5 victory against Matthew Dellavedova.
The biggest title of the week went to doubles duo Alicia Dudeney and Amelia Rajecki at the Lexus GB Pro Series Roehampton.
Dudeney and Rajecki beat Japanese fourth seeds Rinko Matsuda and Eri Shimizu 6-1, 6-4 in an impressive final performance.
Back in Dublin, there were also two British doubles titles in both the men’s and women’s events.
Finn Bass and Ben Jones won their first title together in the M15 tournament after coming through an all-British final against Gray and Hamish Stewart 6-4, 7-6(6).
In the W15 Dublin, Victoria Allen and Esther Adeshina beat French partnership Astrid Cirotte and Chloe Noel 7-5, 6-3 to clinch the title.
Allen has now reached the doubles final in each of her last four events, winning three titles, and also made the singles final in Dublin as well.
Impressive runs for Brooks, Willis, Paris & more
There were several other highlight results from the Brits over the last week, including Madeline Brooks, who made the doubles final of the W100 Gran Canaria-Maspalomas.
Brooks and Eudice Chong defeated fellow Brit Emily Webley-Smith and Ekaterina Ovcharenko in the semi-final, before losing out to top seeds Magali Kempen and Anna Siskova 6-2, 6-3.
Marcus Willis and Josh Paris made the semi-finals of the ATP Challenger Porto where they were defeated by George Goldhoff and Ray Ho in an epic match tie-break 4-6, 6-4, 15-13.
Jack Pinnington Jones also made the singles quarter-final at the ATP Challenger Liberac on the clay.
The young Brit – who has now broken inside the world’s top 200 – narrowly lost out to Argentinian Genaro Alberto Olivieri 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Finally, Lily Miyazaki also reached the semi-finals at the Lexus GB Pro Series Roehampton but eventually bowed out to Han Shi 6-3, 6-2.
Raducanu exits to Wimbledon runner-up; Doubles action in Toronto
The action continues at the ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 National Bank Open this week, however, British No.1 Emma Raducanu went out in the third round over the weekend.
After impressive wins over Elena Gabriela Ruse and 32nd seed Peyton Stearns, the 22-year-old went out to Wimbledon runner-up and world No.7 Amanda Anisimova 6-2, 6-1.
Wimbledon champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, and Roland Garros runners-up Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski are the last remaining Brits in the tournament – reaching the men’s doubles quarter-finals so far.
